I know who this happened to and he is one of the most calm, placcid people you could meet. Would take a lot to get him to react. Well done scu98rkr for posting.

Do these attempts to influence Google rankings not just play right into the hands of the people you are trying to annoy? I bet the majority of the potential customers for this guy couldn’t care less about the incident described, and would probably just assume, like him, that cyclists shouldn’t be there in the first place. So pushing him up the Google rankings this way is probably just raising his public profile and getting him more business?

In my experience, he’s not the only employer who doesn’t care about his employee’s driving behaviour, although I’ve found that the larger bus companies take this sort of thing much more seriously.

ahahaaa glad i clicked on this link, the company i work for is in the process of replacing both carpets and blinds over 3 large properties (about 18 bedrooms plus lounges, kitchens etc in total) in the reading area. i’ve got a little spreadsheet in front of me from the MD with contacts of who to get quotes from.

As I’ve no real interest in Carpets or Blinds but I am in Berkshire…

I’m not in Reading, or indeed in Berkshire, nor do I need carpets or blinds fitting, but if I did need carpets or blinds fitting and I were in Reading or in Berkshire generally I no know that I would avoid using Berkshire Carpets and Blinds to provide the fitting service required to fit my carpets or blinds.

4 digit area code + 6 digit number

or

3 digit city code + 3 digit local area code + 4 digit number. However, you had to dial the 7 digit “local area + number” number from anywhere within the city.

(1) He’s acknowledged it quickly.
(2) He’s going to get the otherside’s view.
(3) He’s right – if everyone reported every idiot on the road we would never do any work.
(4) He’s right – there are some stupid cyclists on the road too.
(5) He’s probably right – most people are interested in how quick and how cheap he can fit a carpet not whether someone in lycra got a fright on his way there.

So, if it was really dangerous driving, the OP would have been straight into a Police station rather than e-mailing the company. I know I would.

As the reply states, its his word against yours, and unless you have witnesses or video of it, then the Manager guy would find it hard to take action based on what has been said. Most he could do is have a quiet word with the driver.

Having said that, his reply is extremely poor and has the effect of alienating cyclists and people in general, not at all the best result that could be achieved.

Did you consider reporting to Police? If they get several reports of bad driving for a certain vehicle/company, I am sure they would have a word.

So for instance if you typed “Berkshire Carpets and Blinds”

you would get results for Blinds and Carpet people in Berkshire.

You wouldn’t get anything about dangerous driving and quite clearly multiple instances of dangerous driving and a disgusting attitude towards other road users.

So if you searched for a Blinds and Carpet people in Berkshire.

You may at least now have an informed opinion about the sort of person you are employing
