Aviemore folks – room to let for a young ski instructor?

Calling Aviemore based folks. A request on behalf of the son of one of my best mates.

Teenager, secured a job as a ski instructor for February, but is looking for cost effective digs for the month.

Anyone have a room spare, or know of anyone who does and wants a well behaved, reasonably well brought up (I know his Dad, remember… 🙂 ) teenager from Cambridge?

Best option would be to get onto one of the local Facebook groups and ask there. I see a fairly constant stream of these requests so I know there is high demand and low availability. He should look at Carrbridge, Kingussie and Newtonmore too as these are typically more affordable (assuming he has transport).

Good luck on there being sufficient snow too!

Edit: don’t rule out AirBnB if it’s only for 3 weeks or so. Some folk might be happy to negotiate for a confirmed stay at this time of year.

I live nowhere near Aviemore but a couple if times when I’ve been up in February we shared a room with ski instructors who were up for 3 weeks of half terms.
I don’t know the current cost but Cairngorm lodge SYHA is easy bus (or hitch) to the slopes or town, kitchen, others to chew the fat with and a pub / village shop over the road.

Yeah, I believe he is asking them exactly that – but rooms seem to be hard to come by, which is not exactly a surprise!
