If you haven’t heard of them they are a UK-based component manufacturer (mainly pedals). Emailed them a couple of days ago enquiring about getting hold of some spare parts but no answer. Looks like they don’t have any product stock on their website any more and 3rd party retailer stock seems to have dried up as well. Anyone here have any info? Would be a shame to hear they went under as they put out some decent kit.

    Try calling them:  01435 692190

I have just looked on the website and there appears to be plenty of stock.

Update: tried the phone number a few times but just rings and nobody picks up. Their social media hasn’t been updated for a while either.

Pembree haven’t had pedals in stock now for getting on to a full year aside from odd colours etc.

They were hinting at what I would assume is a more budget friendly model and there is a picture of it behind a shroud on the site which when you click onto it is a dead link.

They did medals for the Malverns recently so assume they are still about, so I imagine you would receive spares – why they haven’t re-stocked their best selling (and pretty good) product in almost a year is something only they can answer.

This is ominous, I have a pair of Pembrees and I love them. i was hoping to be able to keep them running for many years to come.

Their poor communication is nothing new.

I’ve  tried emailing them a couple of  times last couple of years when I was looking for some pedals but never got any replies either time.

I think it is a one person business so probably juggling a lot of jobs at any given time, not an excuse but a reason anyway.

From what I see and hear the wheels have come off for the small manufacturers in the UK over the last year post Covid, Superstar recently going into liquidation one example.

Definitely something going on as comms has been fine for me in the past.

Did they actually go into liquidation? I thought he’d just sacked off bikes to move into posher, more expensiver stuff.

Thanks for making me aware of a lovely product that I don’t need but now crave ?

Can’t have what you can’t buy though unfortunately.

The Covid period really has done some damage to the small uk guys.

Covid is one thing but only selling a handful of components at double the price of the competition can’t help either. I mean, a stem is a stem innit?

Re Superstar I thought I read on here that he’d moved into motorsports manufacturing and prototyping and stuff. Maybe not.

Yea I get the price thing, but they are really well made products and not far off the price of Hope etc – I hear the pedals last forever, but for some reason haven’t been available for around a year now.

Who knows, they are bankrolled by over £250k of money from the old owner of Whyte…..

I have a few friends in the machine sales business and all the superstar machines got auctioned off a few weeks ago.

It’s one thing wanting to move on to making motorsport / ‘posher’ stuff, it’s another thing actually doing it and it’s clear post covid it just hasn’t happened, shame really but you need a mega amount of work to feed the machines they invested in post bike parts.

It would be a shame if Pembree has gone, I met Phil once & he was a really nice bloke, he may have moved into a more lucrative market.

All that ‘more lucrative market’ stuff isn’t what it’s cracked up to be and often complete  nonsense.

They are still in business because they have recently updated the website.

After several attempts to contact them, it’s clear that they no longer respond to emails or phone calls. Buyers beware – do not expect any after-sales support.

Pop up on the website (https://pembree.com) says:

PEMBREE will be closed for a holiday from Monday 21st October until Monday 3rd November. Any orders placed during this time will be shipped in the week of the 3rd November

    Seems fair enough.

@hightensionline been emailing and calling since the start of October and also this week after the 3rd. Given up now anyway. Will stick to the big names in future.

Not really sure anyone has been very busy there – apart from Guy Farrant (Formerly Whyte bikes) maybe – my hunch would be that he’s sold his part in Pembree to Look, he put a considerable amount of cash into the business during the covid boom and would be well placed to get the deal out to a company like Look – Could be completely wrong of course.

Look do have their own flat pedals so interesting to see where Pembree fit in and if the green credentials / everything made in the UK thing will carry on being a thing.

Yep it turns out they’ve been super busy behind the scenes re: the acquisition by Look.

Phil emailed me yesterday with an apology for the slow comms and a promise of some new hardware in the post so all good. Thanks Phil / Pembree and congratulations / good luck with the Look deal.
