    Need some help, if possible.
    I had a disgusting chavvy loud exhaust on my car and wanted a quiet one. Chap in Bristol had a quiet exhaust on his car and wanted a disgusting chavvy loud one. We decided to swap and since I don’t need to drive too often I took mine off to post down to him. City Link picked it up and apparently loaded it onto a van in Edinburgh to go down to Bristol, according to their tracking website. The van arrived in Bristol minus my exhaust. The mouth-breathers in customer services helpfully advise that it’s either lost, in Edinburgh or Bristol, but there’s no way of finding out which because they only know what’s on the tracking service.
    What are my options re: contacting someone who might actually be able to help me find this package?

    You would think the people who answer the phones would know where every parcel was from first hand knowledge, rather than having to rely on a computer system for information wouldn’t you !

    It’s not that. It’s just they don’t seem able to give me a number to call either Edinburgh or Bristol direct (it’s quite uniquely packaged, so easy to spot if the shipping labels have fallen off) thinking it much more useful to give me the number for a speaking version of their tracking service.

    With so many members on here, there may be a fair chance that someone from customer services at City Link could have spotted this and helped.

    After your first post though, I’m thinking they may not bother now ?

    Well it’s not like I’ve ended up any worse off, is it? And it’s not like the help from customer services was in any way helpful was it? Can you think of a better way to describe someone who’s idea of resolving my problem is to give me the telephone number of an automated telephone version of what I’ve just told them and they’ve just told me in return?

    Yes it’s insured, so there’s that, but no fax. Guess I’ll just sit on it and see if owt happens.
