I bought a set of new hoses for my SLX brakes then realised that they are slightly different in appearance to the BH59s they came with. (I no longer have the original fittings BTW 😳 )

The thread pattern is the same so there should be no issue screwing the fittings in – the only real downside is that the BH90s have a different rubber cover at the lever. (these can be sourced at SJS cycles for a pound each but that means more waiting around)

I thought about sending the hoses back and looking for BH59s but I don’t need the hassle if I can use the ones I already have.

It all sounds pretty straightforward but has anyone tried this setup?

They will be fine, stick them on.

Just attached the hose to the rear caliper easily enough.

In two minds whether to attach the lever without the right hose cover. Just for tarty aesthetic reasons though. They’re dirt cheap but I’ll have to wait a couple of days for one to turn up. 🙄

    Correct cover

    Current cover
