Wife is starting to moan that ours should go on. I explain that it’s still really mild. It makes no difference.

Windows still open in our house. Give her a thicker jumper and more house work.

It’s on for an hour in the morning to make getting up at 6 slightly more tolerable. That’s all.

I was tempted last week but persevered. It’s since warmed up again so it’s looking likely that we’ll manage without for a bit longer yet 🙂

It’s still too warm for the heating ( even in Jockland ) 😉

It was like mid summer yesterday afternoon.

However, by 9pm it was quite cool. A good excuse for a few logs on the stove. Not really necessary but very pleasant.

    Not too nice today though.

Maybe for those that use thermostats the question is – has your heating come on yet automatically?

*pops across the room to the magic box*

It’s 22 degrees outside. I have the doors open, so it’s 22 degrees inside too.

Now, it doesnt take much of an excuse for me to start burning wood, but even I’m keeping my powder poplar dry for now.

No, very warm here in west of Scotland, which is statement you don’t often hear.

I was out on the bike at 7:30 yesterday morning in a short sleeved top and out for a walk late morning in shorts and t-shirt.

All the windows open in the house too and we had a bbq last night.

Warm again today and I can’t see any need for the heating this week. Short sleeved top and arm warmers on the commute this morning.

In Lancaster the heating has not been on since before Easter. We have not even had the wood burner on.

Its not actually been cold in the house yet and long may it continue.

too warm in the north east of scotland – even my thermostat thinks it is – heatings not come on yet except when i tested it out for a couple of days(on timer) just to check it was working ok for the winter.

i recorded 10 outside temp 19 inside when i went to bed last night and 8outside – 18inside when i got up.

all my insulation i fitted over ,last springs made a hell of a difference

Blazing hot on the Sth Coast this weekend, so much so that the heating came on early morning (set at 15C) MrsBouy got out of bed to turn it off and unintentionally turned the thermostat the opposite way to “Full On Meltdown” mode.
Jeeze, to say it was hot was an understatement.. We both melted and MrsBouy couldn’t understand it.. I had a giggle when I pointed the error out.
Still, boiler got a thorough working out just in time for winter 😆

Didn’t need the heating on at all, windows open and patio doors too, blooming lovely it was.

24 deg at Box Hill yesterday, it’s roasting. Riding round town in t-shirts of an evening is splendid, long may it continue.

£40 a month on the direct debit is helping too. No, it hasn’t clicked on yet, comes on at 18.

Had the fire going last night, but our house somehow manages to be colder than outside. It needs studied by science.

Heating? It’s 20c at night and was 34c t’other day. Heating, pah, what are ya, in the northern hemisphere or something?

    It’s spring.

Fire has indeed been on. Our house is the same as above, cool in summer and warm in winter, which is good, plus it heats up quick and retains heat well. It does mean that the house is now cooler than outside, which even after 11 years of living here, still takes me by surprise.

I haven’t even swapped shorts for trousers yet, never mind putting the heating on.

    Lit the stove on saturday.

But only because it has just been painted and needed curing.

Made the house absurdly hot for a few hours, even with some windows open.

    It’s still summer.

Not sure where you are but in the south it’s been so mild that all windows are open 24/7 and it’s still roasting!

I can’t see heating being on for a decent while yet.

Nope. Still kicking about in shorts and t-shirt. House was roasting yesterday and popped into town last night for a few beers. Really warm and the place was buzzing outside. I fear winter will hit with a vengeance when it eventually appears.

ill give notice of when i take out the current trail rat towers stove …..thats when it will drop.

the new one wont be fitted for a couple of days most likely so guarantee it will be cold then.

Had it on Saturday morning for an hour or so but i had just returned from Portugal, so thought it was a bit nippy. Lets hope the mild weather continues.

Nope, we’re in a flat above a fireplace shop, which unfortunately is neither filled with stoveporn or lit fires, it’s all nasty faux-brass trimmed gas and electric stuff and cold!

Currently 22C or more in the Kitchen (i know this as the homebrews on the cold tile floor and is at 22C).

We had a couple of chilly mornings last week, so Yes I did click it on for an hour to warm the house for everyone else before I went out on my bike, but the weather was chuffing lovely the rest of the time so the heating is staying off…

It doesn’t really matter anyway, when it does finally get cold My missus and MIL will randomly turn the thermostat between 5* and 45* variously complaining that they are too hot/cold and not quite understanding why…

If it can stay off till late October/early November that would be Ace…

Just along the coast from you, what is it with the Spiders? I have humongous webs nearly 4 metres wide around the garden and have to try and duck under them each morning 🙂 How the hell do they manage to span from the gutter to the far side of the patio I’ll never know!

what is it with the Spiders?

I managed to walk through a nest yesterday and had hundreds of tiny spiders running around in my leg hair (was wearing shorts), took ages to find and crush them all – was highly irritating…

Our cats are starting to move back in, not quite there yet. Haven’t needed the heating yet, but I’m sure both the cats and my wife will let me know when it is 🙂

We never turn it off? You just set the stat in each room to the temp you want it to be & if it’s colder than that it comes on & if it’s warmer it doesn’t.
Don’t really see what we’d achieve by turning it off.
