Anyone have a Stihl or Husqvarna pressure washer?

Specifically, either of these models:
https://www.screwfix.com/p/stihl-re-110-plus-150bar-electric-pressure-washer-1-7kw-220-230v/193vp
My latest Karcher (K5 compact I think so not a cheap one) has been slowly dying for a while by leaking water all over the shop/tripping the garage electrics and has finally given up the ghost so I’m loathed to spend another penny on that particular brand.
After doing some research the Stihl and Husqvarna washers seem to rank quite highly. I’ve come across the two models above and wondering if anyone has experience of them or similar models? I’m tempted towards the Husqvarna as it’s quite a bit below RRP (if that’s to be believed..) and it has a longer 9m hose to the Stihl’s 8m and a slightly higher operating pressure (135 vs 110 bar), although it is noisier..
Any input/thoughts welcome. Thanks
robertajobbFull MemberNot directly answering as I’ve not had either.
As far as pressure… it’s not really the best parameter as a measure (Unless you’re into stripping the paint off your car). Flow rate is more important really – the higher end pressure washers with a pressure limiter / control are usually used with the pressure NOT at max for car washing – reserve max for cleaning the patio).
If you want something that will last a lifetime and is serviceable, rather than throw-away when plastic moldings like the pump body fail… the answer is Kranzle. But they’re very spendy. The Chris King of the pressure washer world !
I bought a Karcher K4 last year and it lasted exactly zero uses – plastic moldings broke before I even got water hitting the car. Got fed up being d1cked about by Karcher Direct (or whatever they are called) and stumped up the £££ on the Kranzle. It’s like taking an M16 to a gun fight rather than a pea shooter.
KRANZLE K 1050 TST with Hose Drum
The good quality flexi rubber hose in particular is a joy to use compared to the annoying previous hard plastic pressurised pipe that always wanted to kink in half amd split on the Karcher.
nickewenFree Member@robertajobb That Kranzle is a lovely thing and I know what you mean about the proper flexi hose. I have a 15m reel I was using with the Karcher which is the same but now that thing is leaking all over the shop and all the connectors are for Karcher.. as is my snow foam lance etc. so I’m a bit conflicted in that I think I could potentially fix the hose/reel and should stick with Karcher to keep costs down but I don’t want to give them any more money.. Thank you for the advice re. pressure and flow, everyday is a school day and all that!
@MoreCashThanDash Yep, I definitely have pressure washer envy!yosemitepaulFull MemberI have an earlier version of the Stihl. I suspect it’s the same inside but with cosmetic differences on the outside. Had it now for 11 years and has remained faultless. Its only for domestic use, wash the cars, clean the patio etc.. The only issue was last week, when the hose which has had a kink in it for a year or so finally burst with a bang! Knowing it was on its way out I already had a replacement waiting.
If you are looking at the Stihl, then you may also want to view the Nilfisk Alto brand. They did and still probably do manufacture the Stihls which are re-branded. I didn’t know this until I’d bought the Stihl.
If you need the new hose, or lance, then they’re the Nilfisk fitting. (not Karcher).
poolmanFree MemberI got the karcher k5, full size not the compact. It didn’t work out the box so I sent it back, karcher were v good, they replaced it foc and even sent an upgrade with all the patio cleaning attachment and cleaning solution.
Someone on here said if you run the water through before and after use, it prolongs life. That, and storing in a dry garage, it’s got the extended 5 year warranty. Latter was an offer 2 years ago from karcher direct.
toombaFree MemberI have an older model. Similar but not with the roll up hose. I have had karcher and nilfisk in the past, this is without doubt the best washer I’ve had. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend stihl pressure washers. I use mine a lot for cars etc and never put a foot wrong.
hot_fiatFull MemberThat husky looks bloomin similar to my nilfisk d130. I like it, but it doesn’t like being plugged in too far from the fuse box. If it is the same, the lance holder will snap when you sneeze next to it. Just like this one on eBay. (Image nicked from eBay)
johnstellFull MemberI’ve got a Sthil 110. Very good unit (after a gun fault that was replaced under warranty with an improved brass fitting) plenty of pressure, but what I notice is the flow rate – lots of high pressure water rather than just a dribble. Hose is plenty long enough and foam unit is great for the car. It does use a lot of power – cables and plugs get quite warm.
unsponsoredFree MemberAfter burning out a few Karcher pressure washers I went with kranzle. Metal parts, spares available if required. Had mine three or four years. Had to replace one washer.
