Anyone else not want kids??????????

I’d be very interested to hear from someone who has had kids and regreted it.

That would be breaking a pretty strong cultural taboo.

I know a few folk who have expressed some sort of qualified regret along the lines of “I wouldn’t change it for the world but…”

I don’t see that TJ has said anything untowards here, can you all please back off and let an interesting thread run?

Extraordinary that people feel entitled to cast value judgements on others’ decisions on whether or not to have children. Sadly no surprise at (certain) individuals concerned. Will they ever learn or will the moderators ever stop such behaviour? Or is tolerance implying that such behaviour is condoned?

The so-called Edinburgh defence isn’t even funny this time. Calling parents irresponsible is making a clear value judgement. Try being polite and sensitive just once. Or try telling those who want to be parents but can’t that its ok, you are not being irresponsible like the rest of them.

Ludicrous comment and it seems you fundamentally don’t understand the phrase ‘missed the boat’. Interesting.

30 here and I’ve never wanted kids. People have always told me I’ll change my mind ‘when you’re older’ but I guess I’m now approaching an age where it will soon be an actual life choice rather than a juvenile throwaway comment, as some perceived it.

I had this conversation with a guy at a wedding a while ago and he was shocked that I ‘didn’t mind dying alone’ which I thought was an odd rejoinder.

Happy for people who want kids though, I’m beginning to see the plus points after my mates have had some but it’s not for me.
