Our electrician has said it’s fine to drill a few vertical 8mm holes through the glulam beam in our extension, to run flex through for ceiling lights.  It would be four holes along a 6m long 140x400mm beam.  It doesn’t seem to me that that would be a problem, but I’m not an engineer, and neither is the electrician.  Builder’s on holiday this week so who else to ask but STW.

Is he willing to warranty the work and the beams?

If done within the guidelines then yes it will be fine.
