i have come to the decision that i dislike hot weather. well in the uk anyway.
when i am laid by a pool in the med, it is great, when i am at home pottering in the garden, or riding my bike, or even walking my dog, i hate the warm weather.
it makes me grumpy/agitated/moody/bored/tetchy/restless.
i have decided i like cool dry weather, even cool damp showery weather, especially for riding my bike in.

i hope the warm spell dont last...... 😐

ton I know what you mean

We're not accustomed to this heat and not built for doing normal stuff in the warm. However, I'd like to keep practising - means the cooler mornings can be properly used while the sunny afternoons can be kept for socialising and relaxing and cultivating a pub tan

I'm with you on that, I am really tetchy in the uk heat, saying that it does make people smile so that's a bonus. Besides I'm still in new bike honeymoon so right now the weather can do what it likes as I will be out regardless.

My issue with this county's climate, is that we get the hot weather for intense/short periods, so don't really get a chance to get used to it, and lots of people seem to lose their heads once the temp goes over 20.

Bit like Do The Right Thing, but with cans of stella.

I love the hot weather - heading out early and it's already 25+, knowing it'll be heading towards 40 by the time we finish...

Only thing I enjoy about warm weather (above 20C) is riding my bike, when enjoying the dry trails cancels out any other negatives. Hate it otherwise - makes me grumpy too.

Warm weather? I've been on the sofa all day covered in a blanket, shivering for England. 🙁

There is no place finer than the UK in Summer, when it's sunny. It's what I live for, what I wait for each year. One day of sunny weather sets me up for weeks. Nowhere even comes close. Nowhere.

100 miles & 8200ft of ascent on the Lonsdale Populaire audax today, absolutely brilliant to ride in just shorts and a jersey after MONTHS of biting wind & low temps. Fantastic day out, heat kept at bay by just enough of a breeze to make it fun 🙂

To quote Peter Kay,

'Oh it's too warm. I like it warm but I don't like it this warm, there's warm and there is warm....'

'Have a Solero and shut the **** up, will you!'

Very yes, but read the label, first. It must be her choice, etc.

I used to be like that Tony, quite like it now unless I'm at work, then I can't stand it.
I seem to be able to do both hot & cold weather.

Warm fine, hot not so much. Today was the upper limit of comfort for doing 'stuff' IMO. any hotter and wearing a suit, or spending time outside in anything but t-shirt and shorts becomes unpleasant

I love it - shorts and short sleeves are a revelation after layering up for so long... and it gives you a chance to develop your best cyclist's sunburn...

It was horrible blasting around dusty dry trails all weekend. Who'd want to do that? Rubbish - got dust all over my bike. Not a good as mud, only took about 30 seconds to clean after riding. That's not character building

Mrs Coolhandluke finds it odd that I prefer to sit indoors in good weather until I remind her that I work outside and I get enough sun through the week.

My shade is her sun.

Love the temperature though.

It gets pretty chilly in the Atacama. You may want to stay inside during the day though.

Today was perfect. Not so hot I couldn't do some hard graft in the garden in the hottest bit of the day but still properly toasty. Oh and BBQ tea at 5.00 - protein, cider and salad in the shade. 8)

Yup, try north of the border. It's generally a few degrees cooler up here. It was a lovely 11 degrees when I set off on my ride yesterday morning, and with the sun out and riding dry trails it was just about perfect. And there's still quite a bit of snow in some places judging by the large snow patches I could see on Lochnagar.
A beautiful morning to be out on the bike.

Green and yellow fields and trees, blue skies, fluffy white clouds, warmth on your skin, winter pasty whiteness gone, girls in summer dresses, beer gardens, cider, long lazy Sundays and laughs with mates, everyone's mood improved, picnics by the river, oh and dusty trails.

What's not to like you bloody weirdos - and it's not even been that hot yet!?

I'm off to Greece for a couple of months on Wednesday - about 25 degrees at the minute but more like 37 at the end of July.
Obviously I like it .....

Eh? you what?
It was pissing it down a few weeks ago and everything was complete shite, now you are moaning that its too hot? FFS!

Half you buggers will be back to whining about it being too cold/wet in a few months, which TBH is what nobody sane likes, I understand people might dislike being a bit too humid and sweaty, but I much prefer being "too hot" to cold and/or wet...

I had a lovely weekend, I achieved very little, but did so in glorious sunshine which makes all the difference.

That articulates it absolutely perfectly to me! We had a belter of a run out yesterday on dry dusty trails. Out again tonight. And tomorrow. Some of the stuff would have been unrideable just a few weeks ago. Yesterday it was sublime!

Yes, I was sweating like a 70's TV presenter at the top of the climbs, but thats a small price to pay. And on getting in the pub afterwards, cider was the order of the day. Its the law! 😀

There is one thing, and one thing only, which I dislike about this time of year - the flies. If someone could invent a handlebar mounted bug zapper I'd be all over it.

im with the OP. its horrible, especially when you have to come to work in it. i like it cold, crisp & sunny. i also dislike wearing short sleeves, short trousers are fine but prefer my arms covered up. also being forced to sit outside just becasue its warm & sunny! sit there and do what? theres no tv, no couch, and the internet is piss weak. cant read beacuse squinting gives me a headache and its still quite cold in the shade. i hate bbq's too.

" Oooh I like it hot but not this hot !!" , that very british hobby of complaining about the cold and rain all winter and then as soon as theres a whiff of sunshine everybody either sits outside the pub getting pissed or starts moaning. I was out yesterday and it was pleasantly breezy on the tops and hot in the valley , I got home not caked in shite, didn't have to hose me bike off and had sat in the beer garden talking cack , whats not to love.?

Love it. Wish it would stay like this all summer. Does get a bit uncomfortable at work but its so nice commuting home in warmth.
Been mountain biking in Rhodes when it was nearly 40 degrees, that was very warm but bloody nice.
As someone has said, the only bad point is flys. But loads of jungle formula spray soon sorts that.

It doesn't stop them smacking you in the back of the throat at 30 mph when you ill advisedly try to gulp down some air mid DH run.
