At times we looked a very good attacking side. I’d like to see us play with Kane and Vardy up front from the start.
Between now and the euros though we need John Stones to get back in form and take Cahill’s place, Wilshere to get fit and playing to take Henderson’s place (he’s a tryer, but just not very good at football) and any one of Walcott, Sterling, The Ox in place of Lallana.

The half time team talk from Corporal Jones worked a treat.

“They don’t like it up ’em, Mr Hodgeson, sir!”

Vardy for me is an impact sub not a starter. I think Henderson is okay he does a solid job and with Dier is there to anchor the midfield I can’t see Wilshere doing that. I also think Llana is a solid player, I’d possibly consider the Ox there but Stirling and Walcott don’t offer enough for me defensively. People forget that the attacking 3 midfielders have to work hard to win the ball back and track back. Other advantage of Llana, Clyne is club the combination which allows England to build a team quickly in a short space of time.

Friendly games are always great, load of misery and crap before. A win and England are unstoppable…

Probably a good time for those in form players to get a run out against quality opposition to see how they translate premier league to international play. Glad Roy is trying things out, also remember he will probably be giving some players enough rope to drop themselves along with motivation for those not there to step up.

Premier League top scorers table suggests otherwise.

Just Sterling then….the other two are headless chickens!

I’m sure Woy agrees and will only bring him on after Rooney has huffed and puffed with little effect for 75mins.*

*Thank you for her service, Wayne. But it’s time to let the young guard through, let’s not get into the usual England bullshit of playing players past their best ‘for their experience’.

Here’s my prediction then, seeing as my predictions are going so well….

This is a false dawn. Come the actual Euro’s, Woy will bottle it and revert to type. He’ll reinstate the old guard, play an increasingly lumbering and immobile Rooney up front, and return to his uber-defensive comfort zone. Engerland will go out first round after the fans are forced to endure yet more of the dire, unimaginative way-past-it’s-sell-by-date style of football that he’s specialised in so far. Grinding out awful 0 – 0 draws will figure prominently

Don’t forget the “injury to a key player which puts him out for the rest of the season but he races to become fit for one of the last tournament quali matches and then proceeds to do fark all” scenario.

Premier league top scorer is Kane and he has scored 20 in consecutive seasons so for me he starts and is the target man. Vardy is an impact sub as he brings energy and can play up top if Kane got injured or play slighly behind and to the side as he did yesterday.

Alli plays in behind to start then with Barkley to come off the bench. With a combo of Wellbeck, Sturrage, Lallana and Ox being the other attacking midfielders. Rooney stays at home to keep Stirling company 😆

    It was crushingly inevitable.

Why not bring Stevie G and Lamps back as well. Get the whole band back together. 🙁

England manager Roy Hodgson insists captain Wayne Rooney is still a major part of his Euro 2016 plans

As long as his plan covers having someone there to sign autographs for local kids so the team can focus on training, I’m in alignment.

I guess we’re all going to skate over the new kits, and pretend they never happened, right?

Given the prince they’re selling them for, I presume its an elaborate joke.

Woy pledging allegiance to Rooney was just so achingly predictable. He’s obviously missed how United’s form has picked up quite a bit since he’s been out injured. A ‘fit’ Rooney in the England squad is inexplicable enough. But one who won’t have played for a few months? …. Seriously?

Was listening to Woy on the radio, and he was saying how Wayne can’t be kicked out of the squad due to the team playing better without him. As well as they wouldn’t be where they were without him….yup. I am sure only he could have scored a penalty against the Swiss.

It’s like he has not seen Rooney’s performance over the last couple of seasons. In the same way Vardy and Drinkwater have played their way into the squad, I would say it’s fair to argue that Rooney has played his way out of it.

Woy may Wooney captain, he can’t ditch him now 2 months before what is probably his last tournament

Woy is a relic of a past gone era, do you think England would play a modern formation with a high pressing game if it was left up to him. Nope he’d be back to a static 4-4-2. And it takes a certain genius to look at Rooney’s goal scoring record in major tournaments and think yep he’s should be the main man. He has scored 4 against the mighty San Merino though 😆

Engerland will probably put in another half decent performance tonight. The press will helpfully forget that its a meaningless friendly against by far the worst Dutch squad theres ever been (failing to qualify in a group topped by the mighty Iceland!).

The ridiculous ‘we’re going to win the Euro’s’ nonsense will be ratcheted up even further. Making going out first round even more inevitable. I can see (yet again) the TV images of Rooney trudging dejectedly off the pitch after a woeful 0-0 with Slovakia

If he ditched him now, it would be almost two years after his last tournament.

You think you have it bad with Woy in charge? How do you think we feel having to put up with Coleman?

I’d have thought Welsh fans would have been quite happy at present?

Coleman is a far more modern manager than Woy. I’d rather Coleman every time, his win ratio is decent enough for Wales and he is only the 2nd manager to take them to a major tournament.

My only prediction is that Sturridge will break a toe nail that’ll put him him out for the rest of the season and the Euros

He might not be invited to the Japanese embassy, but he can score goals.

Look forward to him being subbed on for Wayne with 5 mins left.

Slightly dodgy penalty but it made for the one Rose got away with in the first half.

Lallana looks out of his depth, Barkley is soo one dimensional, but the Keeper’s doing well.

EDIT: oh no ….here comes Theo!

Hoddle has become an awful commentator, **** knows what he was jabbering on about after the penalty.

I thought the pen was pretty clear cut, it was a swinging arm there was quite a lot of movement towards the ball.

Altogether now, as he blazes another one over/wide/straight at the keeper: “Unlucky, Theo”.

Oh, and Remi Garde has been sacked. That’ll fix things at Villa 🙁

Villa to do a Leicester, escape relegation, and be top of the premiership this time next season then? 😉

England don’t deserve to lose this one, they have been the better team and the decision to not give that foul on the run up to the second Dutch goal was ridiculous.

Grinding out 1 nils is exactly how you win titles.

Can’t see them throwing this away at this stage, after Spurs dropping points yesterday. Can’t see Ranieri doing this….

Another 3 points in the bag for United after an assured and convincing display of fast-paced, free-flowing and creative attacking football 🙂

I hope so and that from a Spurs fan. First goal of the season from the defender – nice 🙂

The icing on the cake would be Man U not hiring The not-so Special One

I wish we had a £35 million striker who could put 3 past Arsenal! 😆

Arsenals defence is absolutely all over the place! They should be 4 down, as the first West Ham goal should have stood. They could be more

….Arsenals Man U’s defence is absolutely all over the place! ….

    Calling it now.

    1. Leicester ….a bold call I know. Watch them get asset stripped over the summer and get relegated next season. I wonder how that guy who cashed in his bet is feeling? (apart from £75k better off)
    2. Spurs ….Have finally stopped being Spursy, and a place in CL and avoiding St Totteringham’s Day is an fair reward.
    3. Arsenal ….they Arsenaled it up as usual. Next year it’ll all be exactly the same different tho!
    4. Man City ….would like to see West Ham get it, but think they’ll miss out. Which is a shame, as City deserve to be relegated for Nasri’s frosted tips.
    .
    .
    18. Sunderland ….They can’t escape yet again. Lee Catermole will finally get to play in his natural league.
    19. Newcastle ….meh. Just…meh.
    20. The mighty shitey Villa. I’d relegate them twice just for giving up several months ago. Will contine to hate watch them in Championship, tho.
