    I’ve got a DT Swiss 240 rear hub in QR and have just ordered a boost 148 12mm frame.

    I’ve ordered some 12mm end caps that take it to 142mm.

    I will then use one of the bodge kits to space the wheel in the axle and space the rotor. That will be a 3mm washer each side of the wheel.

    Do I need to space the rotor by the size of the washer, so 3mm, or the size of the washer plus the size of the increased end caps size of another 3.5mm?

    I think all 12mm end caps are 142mm, and they cone with some wheels to allow different fitting standards and you wouldn’t expect to space the rotor then, so I’m not sure!

    So 3mm or 6.5mm?

    Just the 3mm

    135 and 142 rear ends have rotor in same place relative to the centre line of the hub. Boost moves it out 3mm

    At least I think that’s right!

    3mm and the spacer should come with your boost kit….your hub is for 6 bolt disk rather than center lock?

    This is the first thread ive seen saying you can go 135-148mm. I’ve been avoiding 148 cos all my wheels were originally 135. I was under the impression it was needing rebuilt and redished, and even then it would be a complete bodge.

    Bums, complete bums. Number of frames ive missed that were going for a song 🙁

    There is a kit that replaces the non drive side cap for a 240 (and 350) hub that’s makes it 148 without the bodge kit. This puts the cassette in the correct position. Only down side is a slight redish. The rotor is then spaced into the correct place with the spacer in the kit and there are long bolts to hold it on.

    @dyna-ti no it’s really simple really, unless you have centre lock.

    I think I’ll try it with a 3mm spacer either side, but if the change in chain line causes issues with the 42T I’ll think about shifting both spacers to the nds and re dishing with a new rotor spacer, but 3mm is tiny really so think it will be fine.

    When you say re dishing, this is just adjusting existing spokes within their existing length?

    Yes. You adjust the tension on one side to move the rim relative to the hub. The 3mm it needs to move is well within the adjustment of the existing spokes.
