I have a spare rear wheel running 11spd on an XD driver but I want to use it on a 10spd bike.

I’ve been looking at getting a Shimano-compatible freehub to replace the XD driver but I was also wondering if you can get a Sram 10spd cassette that’ll fit an XD driver… anyone seen anything like this?

I’d never seen anything like that until Pinkbike posted something from E13 at Eurobike today. 10spd, 9-42 and costs a fortune (whatever $300 translates to nowadays).

You should be able to use the 11 speed cassette (same shifting distance as a 10 speed cassette)and use the limit screw to miss out either the 42t or 10t sprockets

Eh, won’t work with a 10-spd shifter as it’s looking for different sized ‘gaps’.

could I tweak the pull ratio to make a 10spd mech move slightly less per click?

I can’t find a Shimano freehub for my hub so I’ve hit the bumpers a tad…

    Seems surprising. What hub?

Looking at the price of those 10 speed XD cassettes it’d probably be cheaper to get a new wheel built up with a Shimano compatible freehub.

It’s a Cube Stereo with DT Swiss hubs. I ‘think’ they are based on the 360 design as they use a 3-pawl freehub, rather than the star ratchet design of the 240.

It has an XD freehub like this one (142×12). I need a Shimano version but I’ve not been able to find one on the web yet, or even figure out which one I need exactly….

A specialised concept store should be able to sort you a freehub. It’s the same design and the wheels that came on the 2015 Enduro Elite. DT SWISS hub but with the 3 pawl system.
