Mercedes AMG inspires Rotwild GT S

by 1

The world of bikes inspired by cars is not always a pretty one. Porsche anyone?

Still, German manufacturers Rotwild have released this, the second mountain bike apparently inspired by the Mercedes AMG.

It’s clearly an XC race machine, and it could be uglier (although I’m not sure about those Crank Bros Cobalt wheels). It’s made of carbon, has a Formula fork, and naturally has XTR DI2 and a Pro Tharsis carbon bar and stem. All. The. Bling. And the colour scheme naturally reflects the AMG (or something).

Those cranks have rarely looked prettier

If you’re in the mood to indulge (or you want one to go with your AMG), you’ll need a spare €9,900 to splash out, and you’ll have to wait until May.

All that money on bikes and cars and you can’t afford a lick of paint for your concrete garage. Pfft.

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
