In more two-up news, we’ve just had word that Mountain Mayhem will hold a Pairs category this year.

The 18th event, held at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire on the 19th, 20th and 21st of June 2015, is the first time a Pairs category has been available.

Organiser Patrick Adams: “We have been asked many times over the years and now we have finally decided yes, why not? So Pairs it is!”

And without wishing to blow our own trumpets (oh, who are we trying to kid?) it seems that Singletrack had something to do with it  “Those Singletrack boys can be very persuasive…!” said Patrick Adams. “It is easy to get stuck in your ways. Now we are 18 we thought it was time for a few changes.”

Entry forms start to be released on Sunday. We’ll keep you posted with any more announcements as and when they appear…

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
