Is your child getting enough fat?

Framed to the rescue with Mini-Sota fatbike…

In a line of fatbikes named for cold (United) states, the Mini-Sota was an inevitability.  Sporting 24×4.o tyres, an aluminium drivetrain, and a SRAM 1×9 drivetrain, we have to admit that Framed’s kids’ fatbike is actually pretty awesome.

The alloy frame keeps weight to a reasonable 31lb (claimed) and the fat tyres probably do a better job at suspending the bike than most 24in suspension forks.  Twist shifters (rather than the triggers shown) are easy for gloved hands to operate and the blue highlights seem just about right.

The single frame size has a 13in seat tube and 20.3in (511mm) top tube.  Direct pricing is $600 (£380)- which seems reasonable for such a niche product.  (The compare at $1,500 statement might be a little optimistic.)  Interested parents (or short fattie fans) will have to deal with shipping and import, as Framed doesn’t look to have distribution outside of the USA.
