We managed to borrow Anneke Beerten’s Specialized Enduro for a quick look over straight after the first day of racing…

Freshly prepped by the team mechanic, the bike was ready for racing on day two. Similar to Tracy Moseley, Anneke is racing on a 29er this season.

She’s running Specialized’s new carbon Traverse wheels.

It looks like Anneke prefers not to be distracted by her Garmin during racing by the way it’s tucked way out of sight under the saddle on the top tube.

Unlike team mate Curtis Keene who runs a Rockshox Vivid Air, Anneke’s Enduro is fitted with a Monarch Plus.

As a SRAM sponsored athlete Anneke is running some Blackbox prototype kit including this spiderless X-Sync chainring. According to Blackbox Program Manager Jon Cancellier this one is “more bitchin'”, that’s all he’s prepared to share at this point. We’re guessing there’s a weight saving to be made by direct mounting the ring.

Spotted first on Jerome Clementz’s Cannondale Jeckyll at Tweedlove, Anneke is also running carbon levered Guide RSC brake levers.

There’s a fairly stock pair of tyres being run on her bike with a 2.3 Slaughter on the rear,

and a 2.3 Butcher up front. That’s a pretty good compromise of rolling resistance/grip given the tight transition times at this event.

Spare tube and CO2 inflator is tucked away under the saddle using Specialized’s SWAT system.

and there’s a multi tool tucked under the bottle cage too.

We’ll be interviewing Anneke tomorrow so watch the site for that coming soon…
