In honour of the Tour de France’s detour through England, the 100-day Yorkshire Festival 2014 is focusing on cycling.  And who better than award-winning photographer – and Singletrack contributor – Jon Sparks to bring the beauty of cycling, road and mountain, to the masses?

MenorcaJon has called his exhibition “Two Wheels Good” and is trying to “highlight what [he loves] about bikes, and people on bikes.”  Shown here is a small sample of the exhibition’s forty large prints, created both on personal journeys and for professional assignments.  While he has and will continue to cover elite events such as the Tour de France, he has not and never will be a top-level rider.  With that said, his photographs “include a range of riding, on and off the roads, that lots of people can relate to.”  “Overall, I hope this show reflects a really diverse range of bikes and cyclists.”

During the arts-oriented Festival, Jon will be sharing his expertise and experiences through a series of workshops.  Prints of the featured photographs will be available to order at the venue.  Jon’s works will be shown at the Ripon Cathedral beginning on May 27.  More information at festival.yorkshire.com.
