The Bikefest Team write…
Don’t forget – earlier date for 2009 event
We had quite a few calls and emails pointing out that they haven’t so far noticed that the event has moved two weeks forward. So make sure you don’t forget that the event is at the earlier day of the 12-13th September 2009.
What is on offer for the big and the small racers out there
Saturday the 12th September will see the 10 hour team and solo event and Sunday the 13th September will have the 5 hour plus the 3 hour novice event. The novice event which was added to the line-up in 2008 will give everybody who is keen to find out what all the ‘fuss’ is about a chance to dip their toe in the water without overdoing it straight away. Both days can be ridden as solo events or as teams of 2 or 4. The special twist on Saturday is that the last couple of hours (depending on weather) might be ridden in the dark and will offer a real chance for everybody to enjoy night riding before the ‘dark season’ starts. So make sure that you have some lights with you in case it gets dark down ‘Witches Wood’.
Besides that there will be the traditional kids race on Saturday which will send the smallest racers around the event village and the bigger ones out on a reduced loop of the proper Cheddar course. There is no need to pre enter. Simply come to the registration before 12:30PM on Saturday with the races starting at 1.00PM. Classes are 0 – 5years, 5 – 10 years and 10 and over depending on numbers of entries. The entry will be free of charge.
Loyalty gift – don’t miss out
As in the last few years we will be given out our Bikefest loyalty gift worth more than £ 25 to everyone who either entered the Bristol and the Cheddar Bikefest in one year or decides to enter the Saturday and the Sunday event over the Cheddar weekend. So it maybe worth considering giving the 5 hour solo a go once you have tackled the course on Saturday in a team of four or maybe the other way round.
You will be receiving your loyalty gift when you sign on at the Cheddar event.
Trade village:
We had some more calls and trade requests over the last couple of weeks so the Cheddar typical event village will be full with the latest stuff from: Kona (will bring a broad selection of their 2010 line-up to the event so make sure you don’t miss out on that), Saris, Cyclops, Sortimo, Ritchey, Canterbury, NoTubes, Xtreme Video, Tag a Long, Specialized, Torq, Giant, High5, Cube, Bionicon, Merida, Cannondale, Bad Ass Bikes, RAM, Embers Merino, Zero G, Mondraker and Next day Tyres.
