What a wonderful programme. Simons like one of those long lost mates you’d bump into in Waitrose, then end up talking about the merits of Walnut Cake to those of Christmas Cake over a,pot of tea in the cafè..

Russia is clearly the coolest destination right now.

Highly recommend watching Lev on catchup Channel 5, he’s a darn hot beardy ruffty tuffty ex Army chap for those who don’t know him. Has also walked the Nile and the Americas.

Then we were spoiled with Gordon Buchanan (BBC4) staying with a Khazak family and learning to hunt with a golden eagle whilst riding a horse. That has to be the coolest thing ever. You have to love the golden eagle as much as your wife apparently. 😀

Then Simon Reeve. No wonder the FSB were out in force with all these Brits in their hood. That crater, wow, any idea of the size? Deforestation, global warming, their future is bleak unless they get a grip.

Seriously? I’m sure the people are lovely but the country is severely messed-up, and I would think twice about going there under the current regime.

Great programme, though.

I enjoyed that Leveson programme but how many different jackets was he able to squeeze into that little rucksack that he carried?
Made me wonder how many people were actually helping him to travel solo .

mikey74, no denying the country is messed up and presents a danger to tourists but I would still love to visit. It would be fascinating and, darn, I would love to ride a horse with an eagle on my arm. 🙂

We went to see him in a local theatre earlier in the year. My wife has the hots for him as well, but so do my daughters. They all went a little weird when Lev asked Alberto up on to the stage. 😯
