question is in the title 🙂 do you think better looking people (defined by the society in which you count yourself a member of’s common view of what is deemed physically attractive) have an easier life?

    better jobs?
    more opportunities?
    happier relationships?
    mental health?
    more confidence?
easier to sleep your way up the job ladder?
etc etc etc and so on….

do you think of yourself as a physically attractive person? if so are you one of those people who likes to only socialise with other attractive people?

EDIT – always wanted to ask this so might as well…. did your opinion of your own physical attractiveness influence your choice of partner? old friend who’s now at uni lost 9 stone over 2 years and the more weight he lost the higher he set his standards for women.

In the work world at least I think it can help people get through the door. However, if they are not very good they quickly get found out and removed just like the rest of us.

    If you looked like this:

it’d be easier to pull than if you looked like that:

I bloody hope not. I look like an enormous thumb.

Some very good looking people may get more, but in my experience that’s because they expect more.

In all seriousness, I’m probably considered OK looking – own hair and teeth, good skin and well groomed, everything in the right place. I’ve done some modeling work for travel brochures and TV adverts.

I know full well that looking good will get me further in business, which is why I dress and groom accordingly.

In my line of work, I deal with a lot of marketing and PR companies and departments, the majority of which are staffed mostly by women. Looking OK and dressing well certainly opens more doors than if I was less fortunate looking.

depending on the industry in which you work i think everyone will have different experiences of it, but i’ve sat in many meetings in which the boss/bosses have discussed using the more attractive people in certain roles…. and in pretty much every situation those roles have been better with regards to pay and promotion opportunities. sales would be a good example of this would it not?

Oh, OK… I’ve got some of the brochures here somewhere. Gimme a minute…
Or if you’re in Blackpool, I’m told there’s a 10ft high pic of me somewhere down on the seafront… Oh yeah, classy!

I still say this can go either way, ‘well groomed and nice clothes is good for business’ maybe not, if someone came to service my tractor in a designer suit and hair gel I would be worried!

I have a femal friend who is very, very, atractive but a commited loner and preffers life on her own, she gets sick of men ‘hitting on her’ (excuse the Americanism) she is always getting inappropriate comments and unwelcome attention.

So for her good loooks are not making life any easier.

Do good looking people have an easier life – Yes. Everything runs more smoothly but it can work against you as well on occasion.

    I can’t fix tractors… 😥

One thing I will say, an nice smile wins people over more often than a miserable countenance. Happy, smiling people are usually considered better looking that miserable t***s.

Pretty much this I think. All other things being equal I reckon it’ll put people a step ahead but it won’t necessarily cover for deficiencies.

    I’m glad I’m a minger.

Good looking people will never know if they’re getting on in life because someone fancies them or because they’re actually good at what they do. Luckily for me there’s no chance of the former happening and everything I achieve is based on my capabilities.

Which probably explains why I’m such a hopeless failure.

I’d say if you are a woman then definitely, doesn’t make too much difference as a man though. For men, money is what counts it seems, looks are irrelevant. How many men do you see, say, driving ferraris, who may be ugly as sin but have a stunning wife/gf etc…

I don’t know about something as subjective as being good looking, but there is considerable evidence that taller people get paid more.

Seems to work OK for me, I’m 6’3″ 🙂

And people with all their own hair. Bastards.

Perhaps it’s about time all us ugly, balding, bespectacled goppers get together and unite against the tall, good looking stunners of the world with their perfect hair and teeth and their little button noses. We’ll even allow shorties in. Come brothers, rise up with me (here’s a chair) and we will rebel against this superficial obsession with appearance and drive this curse from our land!!!

Looks help and so does height

I’m not prepared to post any more detailed shots, or links to any of the TV work… FFS, I’ve put my head on the block by posting those!

If you’re that interested, you can go down to Blackpool Prom and you’ll probably be able to count my blackheads! 😀
