I’m toying with the idea of swapping my trusty 400D for something newer.
(It might be next year, mind, before I actually do it)
I’ve checked out every new Canon since I bought mine and not been tempted until the 600D came along
I can get a 600D for £500 from more than one online retailer, but I’ve noticed the 60D is ‘only’ £147-ish more, which got me thinking….
So today I nipped into a shop and had a look at the 60D. It’s a pretty chunky thing. Far bigger than my 400D, or the 600D, which bothers me a bit as I carry my on my chest when riding, and in a bar bag when touring, which might not be practical any more. And looking at the specs, the two cameras seem to be very similar if not identical inside. The main extra on the 60D is more FPS and an extra LCD screen…..Although it is physically better built (The 600 doesn’t seem as tough as my 400, TBH)
So, the questions are
1) Is it worth the extra money over the 600D? e.g. Will there be a noticeably better image quaility? Will it focus better? etc
2) Would it be a bit of a waste to strap my (Well used!) Sigma 17-70 f2.8 onto a 60D?
3) Would it be a waste to strap this lens

Onto a 600D????
A penny for your thoughts?
(Don’t tell me to look at Nikon etc, I’ve got 4 Canon EFS lenses, and I ain’t changing)
