At last it’s looking like Lee quarry will gain facilities for visiting riders similar to other trail centres.
Planning permission has now been gained for a two storey building and associated 141 space car park. Plans for the building include a toilets, showers, training space, a cafe with barista coffee and the new home for Rawtenstall based Ride On in a 300m² new shop (ore retail space as the plans describe it).
The new trail head is likely to increase usage of the trails which has got to be a good thing and will bring much needed facilities to the Quarry, we for one will be glad of the chance of a post ride brew.
With a new trailhead and the development of Pennine Mountain Bike Association’s Rolling Boar routes it’s looking like Rossendale is stepping up in the trail destination game.
