The votes have been cast, the results counted and here we have it; the best of the best in the world of mountain biking, as decided by you, the users of the Singletrackworld website. Without further ado, here are the winners…
Hardware
Winner: Shimano XTR
Shimano’s XTR groupset has always been a game changer and with the release of their latest, greatest 10spd group they’ve proved themselves to be the top choice for racers as well as trail riders.
Runner up: Stan’s Crest rims
Software
Winner: Endura Superlite waterproof shorts
It says something not only for the quality of Endura’s products but also something for the British weather that you chose their wet weather shorts in this category. Their combination of breathability, waterproofing and fit was a well deserved winner.
Runner up: Shimano AM40 shoes
Best Bike
Winner: Orange ST4
The boys from Halifax have welded up with another cracker. With 110mm of rear wheel travel mated to 120mm at the front, Orange’s original, low slung ST4 was a great ride but the revamped version now has a much stiffer back end to make the most of the nimble handing and all day pedalling capability. It’s a bike that has helped redefine what you can do on a ‘short travel’ trail bike.
Runner up: Ragley Mmmbop
Bike Porn
Winner: Niner Air 9 Carbon
Niner’s carbon fibre beauty has inspired lust, with a niche mixture of low and high technology. Combining bladed rigid forks, 29″ wheels, singlespeed compatible EBB and advanced construction techniques into a lightweight, purposeful package with stunning finish, it’s the bike you could stare at all day, never mind riding.
Runner up: Ibis Mojo HD
Best Photographer
Winner: Dan Barham
You just can’t keep a good man down and Mr Barham returns to claim glory once again. He’s once of the hardest working, as well as best dressed men, in mountain bike photography and consistently produces inspiring and beautiful images.
Runner up: Sim Mainey

Winner: Fort William DH World Cup
Once again, Fort Bill scoops the best event gong. It seems no other event can touch it for the combination of excitement, atmosphere and good old fashioned spectacle.

Best Singletrack Magazine Feature
Winner: Access All Areas by Dave A
This one is a righteous win for Dave A, who is no stranger to this award. He’s been fighting the good fight for access reform in England and Wales and it’s particularly nice that you should choose to reward his efforts.
Runner up: For Lakeland Lovers, also by Dave A
