The NS Rag+ was one of Hannah’s favourite bikes last year, so were intrigued when we saw a press release from NS pop into our inboxes, with details of a revised version for 2018. Standing for Road and Gravel, the RAG+ can also take 27.5 wheels and 2.1in tyres for even more fun.
Fortunately it looks as though little has changed, and the updates are more a case of small tweaks than a whole new bike.
According to NS:
Our drop bar hooligan returns in a new groove!
Fa(s)t and furious tyres (with room for even fatter ones), carbon fork, one-by drivetrain, disc brakes, mudguards mounts, aggressive geo is all you need to shred the hell out of b-roads, gravels and even some smoother, muddy trails.
There are a few small tweaks compared to last year’s version. We have fitted even wider Panaracer tyres (43C instead of 40C). The saddle has been replaced with a more comfortable yet lightweight model from Octane One. There has also been a change up front – the carbon fork now features mudguard eyelets and a flat mount disc brake standard. The cable routing has been moved to the bottom side of the down tube for cleaner looks and easier bottle cage mounting.
New RAG’s will be hitting the shop floors this week!
Full specs and geometry are available on the NS Bikes website. Prices are listed as €1899. We are checking UK prices, but currently prices seem to end up being converted at 1:1 across other brands.
