It was a ride to show RustyDonkey about, not tear him a new one…

I always find people rememder trail betterer when they’re blowing out their ass trying to hang on so they don’t get lost in the woods. 😆

Or maybe I’m a bit grumpy cause I had to do some work instead of getting out for a ride. 😉

At the end of the day…. riding only 13 miles in how ever long….is still….better than working ! 😉

Anyone about in the morning ?

    The usual suspects…

Secret garden, camber, caravan, helipad, plus other stuff….it was bloody warm too.

worst thing about the forest in warm temps are the flies, i can’t out run them uphill

Just had a look at the your route map, MTG. Wow, it is different to my usual loop around the Wyre. I feel another day of exploring is on the cards for me. 🙂

That bit of singletrack is fast and twisty, its good in both directions too, I always use that track to get into the forest. 🙂

Thats the good thing about riding with different people, because if they know the forest well, they can sometimes show you different little routes/tracks….

I have picked up a couple of new tracks, cheeky ones though since riding with other people…no two rides are ever the same 🙂

    Slight hijack here.
I occasionally visit the in-laws in Blakedown and have been thinking about what riding there might be in that area. Clent Hills and Wyre Forest are both on my list to check out. Any pointers you can give?

Wyre forest is best guided, unless you have a lot of time to explore (there are regular guided sunday rides, or post for a guide – lots about)
You can ride round the kinver/stourbridge/K’ford area from blakedown (one of our loops passes through it), just get an OS map and go exploring

Cheers Z1ppy, I’ll post up in advance of next visit I think.
A Wyre Forest guide would be great.
I guess there’s nothing to warrant bringing a bouncy bike for, so I’ll probably bring XC hardtail, whaddya fink?

if you listen to some, bouncy bikes are never necessary.
I don’t currently have a HT to hand (someone borrowing it long term) so have to use full-susser.
That I just don’t care 😛 ,just bring what you like.

Ecky, as per RD’s comment, HT is fine. FS is also fine.

Got an MB Swindon club ride in the forest on Sunday. Been looking forward to it for ages, we had a great time there last year. All welcome http://www.mbswindon.co.uk/ride-wyre-forest-april-2011/
