Thought of two final words and again went for the wrong one. The first word having no letters really threw me though, need to work on that.
I use a strategy of trying to get vowels first, then on consonants. Eliminating high-frequency consonants is just as valuable as finding letters. I’ve settled on IDEAS as a starting word (3 vowels and two important consonants) and then respond accordingly with the second guess, trying to include T, R, and D. If I get no letters on the first guess, I use GROUT, which includes the two remaining vowels and three more important consonants. Once you have sorted out the vowels and the consonants D, S, G, R, and T, the number of possible words is pretty limited. Worked well with today’s one:
