Spoiler:

AUREI to open checking for vowels
STOKE testing the ST as common consonants, plus the last vowel (unlikely with two already in the bag) and the position of the E which was quite likely.
BEIGE testing for a second E and taking a punt on B & G while looking for the I position.
IMINE testing for a second I and its position as well as M & N.
Now I know my
first, third and fourth could be N and long list of what it isn’t
Second is I, the only position not tested.
Fifth is E, known for a while.

The I & N could be discrete but if not, IN feels more likely than NI so time for a guess with two new letters.

chose wrong from the two options left again. wife got it in two which im incredulous at as she only got 1 correct letter and one in wrong place from her first word! at the moment shes better luckier at it than me.

ooh i like that. altho itll be a hard ask typing in ABBEY say from the other day knowing that youre already limiting your chances of success with a double letter and a Y.

Took some pondering this morning.

Yep that final guess took me a good 5 mins, with the letters already discarded I thought it was going to be something much more obscure.

I also start with a random word as someone else above, no technique or “magic” words just guesswork, but I do like the idea of “pure wordle” but I have forgotten the previous days word by the time I play again, and don’t think I can be bothered noting it down..

Really struggled with today’s one! Took all 6 tries to get it.
