Fed up the miserable summer weather of the last 2 years I’m planning the summer holiday somewhere warm – probably spain or portugal.

    1. Preferably a small coastal town, not a resort.
    2. Thought about Galicia, but most of the photos on FLickr show it covered in mist – I can get that in Scotland.
    3. What about the non touristy parts of Portugal

    TIA

Northern Spain is nice but risky weather-wise, I’d imagine Portugal would be similar… I’d head to north Catalonia. Which in fact is what I’ll probably be doing.

Santander or the surrounding area is a good bet. More reliable weather-wise than further west.
