I’m not having much luck on the standard websites, and even the classifieds and google are not turning up much, but I’m after some v-Brake bosses and need to know where I can get some from.

    Any ideas?

    Foxyrider, I think I might love you…

Not sure about the bosses on that CRC link, but I would be eternally grateful (and, of course cover postage and senda beer to the folks in STW towers) if you would send me your bosses.

That still leaves me two short, though, so I’ll keep my eyes open…

Anyone else happen to have any laying about?

BTW I presume they are std bosses like my Kinesis frame – you seem to be able to get 10mm and 8mm – I can only presume mine are 10mm Diam as CRC says 8mm for forks and 10mm for frames?

Right Crispy – Just to clarify you want 2 sets – My neighbour is about to take his off as well – So I could get 2 sets (both would be 10mm though) – So if you cover the postage and line my pocket with a bob or two 😉 then I think we can do something? I need to replace them with screw in adapters so maybe a suitable exchange?

    i.e. these:

    which are about £2.50/pair – so maybe £5 + postage (tis why I haven’t removed tehm yet 😉 )

my mail is in my profile 🙂

Yeah, plenty here but note there are at least 3 thread standards (8mm, 10mm coarse and fine, don’t know what the exact thread spec is). 10mm coarse seem most common.

(the blanker is 10mm coarse, the bosses are 8 and 10mm fine).

Any decent local bike shop will have a box of old spares kicking about, but am sure I’ve got plenty of 10mm coarse spare.

you may as well go with haz’s offer or you LBS then 😉 As I havent taken them out as I need something to fill its place 😉

Right, Thanks for the offers peeps, but, bearing in mind that there are *issues* with the different thread sizes, I ended up calling Specialized UK (they’re for an old hardrock) forsome advice and they’ve said that they’ll send some out to my local spesh dealer for me.

    Brilliant!

So, thanks for your responses, looks like there’s a happy ending here after all, but I’ll give yiz a shout if it all goes wrong!

BTW – when I sold my wife’s old 2005 hardrock I had to replace the bosses that I had removed a while back. The kineiss ones fillte perfectly so I think most new bikes from 05′ esp from spec seem std presumably 10mm FWIW.

I came across this post after searching Google for a new v-brake boss. I'm in desperate need of a 10mm coarse one for the back end of an old MTB frame I'm refurbing – can anybody help?

    Many thanks.

    Sam.
