I think I’ve blown something up in my RP2, the first ~6mm of shock movement is a undamped and there’s a definate step at that point (pesumamby a piston submerging in the oil), on the trail this mainifests itself as substantialy less dmaping than in the car park squish test.

Now it went about 10.5 months from new, I e-mailed MOJO and they said to send it into them, so I bagged it up and………………didn’t. I didnt have a printer at home to print off the invoices etc so it just sat on my things to do list, untill yesterday, when I relised the year was up last week!

    I e-mailed them and their response was a non-comital

“It depends on what kind of condition the shock is in, if the fault looks like it has happened through wear and tear we won’t be able to fix it under warranty. We will contact you to discuss your options once the shock has arrived with us.”

Now I’m pretty confident the shock is in good condition from a wear and tear POV as it’s not been used anywhere near as much as I’d have liked to through a combination of working away and a broken arm this year. But once it’s with them an in bits on their workbench it’s pretty much at their mercy to decide either way.

    So my options are…..

Send to mojo and hope they agree it was a fault, but be prepared to pay another £106 for the service and another £36 for custom valving while it’s there.

Send it to TF and get it push tuned for £150 (probably what I’d do if it was definately out of warrenty).

Send it to LOCO for £76 (probably what I’d have done if I’d bought a coil shock already)

I was planning on getting a coil shock (Pushed VanRC or diverse deuler) anyway for more ‘fun’ riding, saving the air shock for XC, and then this happens, grrrrrrrrr. I suppose there’s always the 3rd option of a DH air shock like the CCDBair, Vivid air, or monarch plus.

In January my Float 150 rlc’s totally siezed up on a cold ride , very notchy and clunking with about 15mm of travel(they had been previously serviced and I do the regular quick seal service every month or so). I looked up my receipt and to my horror they were just 9 days out of warranty!

After ringing MOJO they wouldn’t commit untill they’d seen them and they were in need of a 12 month service anyway. Posted them off and got a call the next day from the Technician asking about the symptoms…… 5 days later, call from a girl in the office to pay up (big gulp – “what’s the damage then?”)…. just the usual £106 sevice fee. Somewhat relieved I asked if they just needed a service? “oh no Sir” basically everything was renewed minus the original lower legs, even replaced the crown/steerer and new 2012 kashima stantions, bushes internals etc etc.

They carged me zilch for this as a good will gesture for being ‘just’ out of warranty, so in answer to your question – awesome service TBH!

Hmmm, that leaves me feeling a bit 50/50 as I suspect it’s just the seal between the oil and air that’s gone so presumably it’ll just need a service, in which case I’d be as well sending them elswhere.

Send it to Mojo – warranty period isnt the timelimit for sending it, its the period during which fault arises. If you emailed mojo and they responded then that is proof fault arose during warranty, unless you are some gifted doomforseeing liar! Your delay in sending is not fatal as long as its not ridiculous.

Anyway statutory warranty is not 12m, it a reasonable period.

If mojo find a fault they are most likely to sort you out.

I thought Fox offered 2 years warranty?

My 18-20 months old 32 Talas got the CSU replaced under warranty earlier in the year.
