What would gum up an angle grinder disc?

I’ve bought a twin walled ground anchor and wondered if there was something I could set between the leafs which would gum up an angle grinder disc?

I was thinking something like tar? Seal off one side and pour in and set. Just trying to make it harder should anyone have a go..

Mix the wading out of some chainsaw trousers into some concrete?

Actually that probably wouldnt work, maybe just the wadding. Dunno what to hold it in with though.

Polyurethane varnish seems to work – even when you don’t want it to.

Tar might just smoke and burn.

Realistically I doubt anything would really help much, otherwise the manufacturers would have added it themselves.
And if the anchor was that tough then the scrote would just cut the chain/cable.

Chainsaw trouser wadding just clogs up chains, not disks.

I would say that tar – given the tempreature of a disc edge as it tackles something that solid – would produce some proper stinky smoke. Proper minging smoke. Is it in an enclosed area? Maybe the smoke would be a good thing. Doubt it would actually stop someone determined. But you could also use a smoke alarm.

Loose fibres set in resin maybe (bathroom sealant would be easier)?

As above, the chain would be the easier option to cut

Best defense might be to use an anchor that needs a bigger disk to cut it than an angle grinder.
But that still leaves the chain/cable….

For the garage. Seems worth an evenings tinkering if I can make life harder for some wrong-un.

Wondered about this sort of solution myself. Something that softens a bit but not for very long, like latax paint and sealnt do with a sanding disc.

You could help by putting the anchor in a really difficult place to get to like up against the wall at the rear of the bikes.
Having seen the safe that got cut open at one of my customers factorys though nothing will stop someone determined enough.
I counted 8 layers of steel with varying different materials between each layer.
The outside cuts were quite big and each cut of the next layer took a step inside, just leaving a hole big enough to get the cash out.

Car tyres or suspension bushes work pretty well for what you want but you are not going to be able to melt them down to get them in and they are really hard to cut into strips to set into some other type of resin.

Maybe get some TPU 3D printing filament and mould it into the slot or some casting PU resin.

Some car engine coolant hoses produce HF on melting. That’d do it.

I’d try make access with a disk difficult/impossible – if it’s on the floor build a plinth of concrete or brick around it, or just bolt some steel L shaped plate all round.

Look at how padlock shackles are protected in security gates etc – do something similar.

How about some strong red dye? Seal it in with epoxy. When they cut into anchor it would be sprayed everywhere…

Wedge slices of plywood between the two walls. Cutting with a grinder will smoke like hell, add a smoke alarm. It may put thieves off.

The glass melts on contact with the hot disc and effective turns it into a shiny smooth disc rather than an abrasive one.

There are actually commercially available alarm systems that do this – basically giant vapers that fill the room almost instantly. You can combine them with a strobe light to really **** with anyone who breaks in. I think one of the smaller simpler systems costs around 1500.

Anyway, just use two anchors, two big chains including one prgmasis 19mm and secure the mains plugs so they have to use a battery operated angle grinder.

They’ll then run out of battery and have to change it mid theft.

We had one at work to protect the warehouse with the strobe, effective, but it does blow away eventually so only usefull if someone is responding to the alarm. It also broke down a lot.

Not sure many bike thieves would stick around to find out if smoke was billowing out the house lol!

Can you get CS crystals? Any heat produced on cutting would cause them to vapourise and make the cutter’s day really bad.

I was going to suggest white phosphorous, but that might be going a little too far.
