I’ve really enjoyed the films, especially ones about big trips, like Mark Beaumont’s journeys, and also the recent Himalayas ones. What might I have missed, to binge in the next few days?

They had quite a good one about crit races in the US called The Fast Lane

This is basically the exact opposite of what you asked for but I liked it 🙂

Thanks. I actually liked the ones about crit races in Germany (?) so I’ll have a watch !!

Find any of the track champions league and watch Katie Archibald do an elimination race. Starts of dissecting the field like a scalpel then ends by smashing them to heck like a hammer.

Paris Brest Paris is an interesting look at that event, one of the recent releases.

Anything with Jenny Graham or Mark Beaumont.

Some of tne Cycling Heartlands were interesting, especially the Girona and Cote D’Azur episodes.

Stumbled across something in the American section that seemed to be a gravel ride round artisan breweries, ticked a lot of my boxes.

I really enjoyed the Thomas Voekler documentary.

So people don’t miss / ignore it – I’ve just had an email through reminding about GCN+ closing down and offering a code for 3 months free of Discovery+ (Standard plan, £6.99pcm after). At least that gives the opportunity to watch the CX over the winter and get an idea as to whether you think the package is worth paying for.

I assume there’s no legitimate way to download any of these for later viewing? It’s been my main viewing fodder for turbo trainer sessions, watching someone do something actually difficult/impressive makes an hour on the turbo seem less grim!

Is it a generic 3 month code for Discovery+ or user specific?

It looks like it is account-specific.

I’ve had a similar email to @frogstomp, presumably this means that DH will be on the standard package then?

I enjoyed that one. Also just watched Trial By Giro. Brutal.

    I like Connor’s films – Alpe D’Huez, Angliru, Unbound.

I recall the GBDuro and Pan Celtic films were pretty good too.

I was quite late to GCN+ (early last year) so spent a while catching up on stuff like the Lost Lanes series, anything with Jenny Graham, Cycling Heartlands and those recent Himalaya one’s you mentioned.

X20 Trofee Herentals is today with both MVdP and Pidcock – both seem to be concentrating their off-season training on next year’s road calendar so it’ll be interesting to see how they stack up against the regulars.

Thanks for pointing out the 3 months free I hadn’t spotted it before, it’s in the “Important Reminder About Your GCN+ Subscription Ending” email.

    This is a sad sight.

Don’t know if it’s a recent change, but today’s CX was commentated by Ric McLaughlin rather than the ‘usual’ GCN crew – cost cutting I guess. Nothing particularly against Ric per se but his commentary is a bit cookie cutter across disciplines..

    Mvdp on another lever though..

He’s been on a few times this season, doesn’t bring much to the proceedings IMO. For my money Jeremy Powers and Helen Wyman have been the most interesting and perceptive. I’m wondering what the commentary teams will be for next year’s road races – especially the Grand Tours.

    I really enjoyed ‘Send It’.

Quite old now, but still available I think. About urban singlespeed messenger racing

The way he carried speed over the crest of that climb was phenomenal. A massive gap on everyone generated in something that didn’t even look like a move.
