    @stoner

Very nice. Hope it works out for you.

Originally built to use to do inverted rows with, but realized with a bit more effort it might come in handy for other exercises if the bar could be placed at different heights. Just need to figure out what other exercises they may be.

Why are the supports in different places?

Not up to the usual STW standard but I just made a Useless box for the smallest offspring.

Why are the supports in different places?

There’s a support each side, one attached to the middle block, and one attached to an upright. Otherwise there would have been too many screws running into that bottom middle block (ie 7). Where there’s a single screw on the upright going into a middle block, there’s two screws either side of it hidden going through from the middle block into the other upright. It’s a bit rough round the edges, ie the gaps aren’t all equidistant so the bar’s a bit stiff in some and loose in others, but overall it seems to work.

lordy stoner, your piccies bough back some memories. 😀 I’ve (re)built 3 spitties over the years.

The Triumph SC engine is a solid little lump that’ll stand quite a bit of tuning if you’re interested in that sort of thing. I had one the was skimmed, ported, with a set of Webbers, SS branch exhaust and electronic ignition, that was good for over 100bhp. Not much these days, but pretty racy in a spit!

I didnt know you were a Spit man.
Ive seen Sideways Tim has a green one.
Its runnign well, although we think rear NS bearing or hub carrier is failing so will get that sorted. Bro is v chuffed with it. Flew past its MOT.

Given how cheap they are Im toying with getting one too. For my boys you understand. Every 9 & 6yr old should have a car, obviously.,…. ahem….

They make such a lovely little high day and holiday car. Easy to work on, and bog standard spanner and hammer servicing. I’ve driven mine to France (all the way to the Cote D’Azur and back) and the Frenchies love ’em

    had a late 1V 1500 and two early mk1V 1300. Mate had a GT6 soft-top. A mk3 GT6 with the rear tub of a Spitty bolted on, when I win the lottery…

Always in awe of the skills people on here have. I’m a very limited diyer at best but have just finished this bespoke to fit the gap log store (in double the hours a competent diyer would have taken). It’s necessary as we’ve had a stove fitted so I’m more STW now than before.

Door and architrave. Ebonised Cherry veneer over grey Valcromat, CNC’d to etch in the graphic design. The ‘catch, is in the recess: a pair of magnets in the frame provide resistance with mild steel plate in the door, doubling as a handle.

Made some Christmas birdies to give away as cards. Unfortunately to make them I have to get through several bottles of Estrella…

Thank you. Wasn’t sure what you meant about the orientation until I viewed on laptop just now. I posted it from my phone, where it looks normal. Clearly I’m better at making things than using the internet.

I’m definitely ‘taking some inspiration’ from that desk tidy, lovely thing.

Ref: stair balustrades, presume Lad Bible are such lads they don’t need to comply with building regs.

    Glad you like it 🙂

I used some old shotguns shell (used ;). Knocked out the copper caps in the centre with a bradle or whatever. Got an offcut of oak from the woods. Screwded on the cartridges from above.

I wish I could get more shells and make bigger one 🙂

I could post you some spent shotgun cartridges, but not sure if RM might scan parcels or trace powder residue…..

Just when I think I’m over selling my last Spitfire 2 years ago, you have to post those pictures!!

This used to be mine, sniff

And it was sold for a lot less than what the dealer is asking- but it’s been on their site for over a year!

There’s some fantastic stuff on here! 😀 I’ve been catching up!

Loving the Spit stoner, lovely work, I restored a Mk 3 in the early 90’s, great little cars.

Three fish, your door is outstanding, as are kayak’s many and varied contributions. Top skills everyone!

I’ve spent a lot of this year doing another ‘refit’ to my boat, 5 years since the last one and seemingly long enough to forget the blood sweat and tears and once again completely underestimating the time required to do the boat some form of justice, but, so worthwhile when it all works out. I’ll post a few photo’s in the next few days

    Got this old AVD Pickup:

It had been sitting outdoors for 10 years – I had to dismantle some of it with an angle grinder. But stripped it down, repainted it, machined some new parts for it, and rebuilt it with some new parts.

And it’s now as good as new. It’s going to be used in our local park.

not up to the high standards set by everything else on here…but having my usual end of year clearout of parts taken off bikes that have been serviced, and thought I would try to ‘upcycle’ some of them for Christmas..

Made a kilo of “special” Coconut, Rum and Lime truffles for a mate who got out of hospital yesterday in time for xmas at home with his family. He’s been in hospital for the previous 8 weeks getting pretty major surgery to remove his oesophagus and stretch his stomach up to create a new oesophageal passage.

300ml of cold pressed coconut oil and 20ml of Lecithin heated up in a slow cooker, add in 25g of decarboxylated cannabis (power plant crossed with nevilles haze) and leave on low for 8 hrs, strain mixture through cheesecloth and whilst warm mix in 300g Callebaut Crème a La Carte Marc de Champagne ganache then add generous measure of Rum, few drops of coconut essence and lime extract, mix thoroughly on a low heat and fill truffle shells, wait till ganache is set then roll truffles in Ecuadorian milk chocolate and toss in desiccated coconut.

Each truffle contains approx 50mg of THC/CBD extracts so they are quite manageable and should help him through the next few weeks.

Just off to deliver them, before the sample i tried fully kicks in 😉
