Short local loop with some faffage of shock pressures, saddle height and bar rolling.

It’s months since I did this loop, it’s all within about 3 miles of my house. Great fun in the wet….

Last ride before our Italian trip. Only us and the sheep out on the trails. Still quite warm and dry but the wind was strong on the tops.

Tried another bike park in Japan this weekend. This one is at the base of mount Fuji. It’s quite small with a chair lift. The weather was absolutely glorious. It’s a bit higher so cooler at a nice 23-25 degs. Got a 3 hours ticket and somehow managed to get 11 runs in.

This one is called Fujiten which is about 90 mins drive, but it’s 90 mins drive on local roads so actually quite close. The other one (Fujimi) was 2 hours but it was 2 hours worth of motorway driving.

PXL_20240914_050659318PXL_20240914_045723123That’s Mount Fuji in the background. No snow this time of the year.

Only had 3 hours so didn’t really stop to take any more photos.

@nicholas_yiu – can you post up about Japan and riding on a thread? I’ve got a son who spent a few months there this year, looking to go back in 2025 to stay a year…

5.30 this morning, setting up for the first round of the Notts and Derby CX league at Shipley Park. 800 stakes, 7km of tape, ready for 250+ riders. (I was a small cog in a big machine)

Off to Italy for 12 nights from tomorrow, (work trip, but taking the bike), so out for a few hours last night instead of this morning.

Does Friday afternoon count as the weekend? Had to drop a parcel off in Ilkley so had a short but sweet ride around the moor.

Saturday in Penyard woods for me. Started off really well with a couple of “firsts” but ended up with me faceplanting on a trail I’ve ridden loads of times before. No idea how it happened, which is concerning. No pics of the bike, but one of my ugly mug, complete with blood and abrasions.

Took the mutt to Mallards today for a nice gentle bimble.

Riding the last ever Tweedlove enduro in Innerleithen was scuppered with car troubles. (Tractor incident – that’s why you’re meant to raise those loader arms! No-one injured)

    Cover it with a sticker?

Early morning wazz along a bit of the Union Canal and Avon Heritage Trail, including Scotland’s longest and tallest aqueduct.

2024-09-12 Avon Aqueduct Cotic Cascade 00001

Then I sneaked in a quick shakedown ride of my new-to-me frame on my local trails – not many tweaks required although the rear shock undoubtedly has some better settings for me I’m sure. Very undertrailed/overbiked but still very much fun.

No, I was in the drivers seat – it appears my instincts worked OK and diving for the passenger footwell was the right call. Driving home from work and the tractor just nosed out of the hedgerow to join the road. It doesn’t really bear thinking about as my driver’s headrest is bent back. ?

I didn’t make it down in the end. Complete Tweedlove failure for me this year. Broke collar bone at the end of April so missed Laggan. Not healed fully so marshalled Glentress one. Then all set for a (slow) return at Innerleithen and this happened.
