I wish instead of saying ‘too close to call’ they’d say ‘undecided’. It can’t be called because they haven’t nearly finished counting

It’s amazing, but must of us aren’t American. Trump really has a lot of support and that probably means we have to rethink how we think about America.

Trump takes the lead…  i think.

rethink how we think about America.

Indeed, its not a good reflection.

You can’t polish a turd. But the Americans sure as hell are good at sprinkling the glitter.

Regardless of the final outcome it’s very depressing.

Trump already has the lead if you include Texas

Welcome to the United States of dystopia?

Although, people are probably looking at the uk with the same incredulous pity.

I hope labour are watching and learning. Even if Biden wins it is by way to tight a margin. It isn’t enough to just not be the **** in charge, you actually have to offer a real alternative that gives hope.

Trump really has a lot of support and that probably means we have to rethink how we think about America.

I think most Europeans realised how dangerous a political leader America was a couple of decades ago, Trump cemented that fact. Unfortunately our political leaders haven’t grasped the fact yet, they thought that Trump was a blip and could be brushed over and move on after 4 years. Well that just isn’t the case the world needs to realign without the US at the helm for everyones good.

There was something on ‘prime time’ TV here yesterday, I’m not entirely sure as I wasn’t paying attention, might’ve been the One Show. They did a ‘man in the street’ poll, folk chucking coloured balls into a box to vote for Trump / Biden. The result was exactly 50:50.

    What are we rethinking, again?

Not just in America, I fear

There is a lot of truth in what you say. However, the people have to listen. Biden has said he will protect medicare for pre existing conditions. Trump is in court next week to remove that protection. On the campaign trail Trump said he is going to protect pre-existing conditions.
If you as a voter can’t see the problem there, no amount of talking about positive things by one side will help.

Looking at the number of electoral college votes left in the states to formally announce a result, Trump has won.

“we” don’t need to rethink anything. This country is exactly the same, if Trump were a candidate for PM he’d probably win. With the exception of guns I don’t think America is much more f**ked up than the UK.

Trump about to get on stage… likely to tell everyone how he’s being cheated…

He already tweeted that. I’m guessing he’ll call on Joe to concede or he sicks Guiliani on him.

Yep, except this time it seems it’s Poland rather than Russia.

Biden only really needs 2 of at least 4 possibles still in play, including Georgia and that definitely wasn’t supposed to happen

Ever feel like you are on the wrong side of history? I’m tired of waking up, looking at poll results and thinking WTF?

I dont think Trump’s winning this. The mail in votes are likely to be hugely swayed to the democrats and in Georgia and Pennsylvania there are way more than Biden needs still to be counted. I think Biden will be declared winner this afternoon but Trump’s lawyers will begin their nonsense. He’s been preparing the ground for this for months now.

Pretty much ^^^^. Although for me, it’s been working the night shift, watching the **** unfold!

But there is a glimmer of hope here. I’m not expecting good news, but you never know, eh?

I’ve been watching the CNN feed. They are NOT Trump fans! It’s been interesting how scathing they are being.

No, that is exactly the problem, Biden is just going to protect the crappy old compromise that no one really likes. He didn’t lay out a better alternative plan for healthcare that anyone could get behind and campaign for. It’s we will return you to same old life before Trump rather than build a better future.

I will make a prediction, although it might be tight this time, there will still be more non voting eligible voters, than votes cast for the winner.

I’m feeling the same sense of dread and bewilderment I felt the day after the Referendum result here. Wondering how so many people could be so catastrophically stupid.

How can anyone vote for that orange bastard. I can’t understand it. He’s an imbecile who can’t even string a coherent sentence together. No way would we have somebody like that in char……oh, shit.

A packed Whitehouse briefing room including a bloke that looks suspiciously like R Kelly, and I’ve counted 2 masks.  Here we go.

If he had, Trump would have – in fact did – say he had a plan, it was the best plan, it was the bigliest plan, the plan that did more than anyone elses plan ever. People swallowed that hook line and sinker. If you as a voter buy into that, which clearly a lot have, literally nothing the other side says will matter.

I think the mail-in voting is causing unprecedented issues with this. There’s usually many more votes counted by this point.

Morning. Glad I went to bed when it was obvious Trump had Florida. Seems I may have been right. Still possible for Biden to win but it’s so close it’ll be a repeat of 2000. He’s a shit candidate. Offers nothing different to what the voters rejected in 2016, and arrogantly thought Covid would get him elected. Bernie would have walked this.

looks like Biden has a chance of winning Georgia! (a lot of metropolitan votes still to be counted)

True. The exit polls seemed like people were concerned with the economy first, covid was way down the list. Biden msread the mood badly thinking covid was the wedge issue.

Not sure Bernie is the answer to any question involving concerns about the economy.

He’s just declared effective victory. Let the violence commence!

It will tighten but Boden needs to win a very large proportion of uncounted votes in the handful of swing states that could possibly go his way.

Civil war looking ever more likely, Trump stoking it more than ever. Christ.
