Looks like Captain_Numbnutz is back trolling with a different username. Clot. Oh, and for the numerically challenged, the difference is five emitters and 1300 lumens. Now can you see a difference?

never said brighter – said better. more light does not necessarily mean a better product. Too much white light makes it hard to see obstacles/definition. Surely there is an optimal amount of brightness and colour for the human eye. Its not just a case of ramp up the lumens!!

Hi Rob we go back a fair bit in the light diy thing IIRC
it is not just a case of ramping up the lumens I have done that in the past and know a little bit about what works .but dont say I am an expert .

you cant really make a sweeping statment without seeing the thing in real life .

talking of sheep there has been no wool pulling on my behalf and no one is asking you to follow anyone

not accusing you trout – just the way the stw mass jump on band wagons at the drop of a hat and the next new thing is best.

examples include the spesh pitch, on-one, ragley and so on

True. But to be fair that next best thing bandwagon brought me the joy of toasted malt loaf.

Considering I've been following Trout's ongoing development of his light from the very first posts, and seen exactly how much effort has gone into it, and looked at many other light systems out there, plus also being a reasonably intelligent person perfectly capable of making a reasoned decision based on available data, I finally chose to get Trout's light because it fitted all the criteria that I had for a high performance light, something that Hope and USE/Exposure didn't do. If I was going to be one of the sheep I would have bought one of the previously highly touted lights like a Lumicycle/Hope/Lupine/Cateye, etc. Trout's light gives by far the best performance for the money in a neatly designed compact package that sits neatly in the perfect spot on my bars. I won't be sneered at by you Rob, or Captain Bloody Crash or anyone else because I choose to support someone who is actually getting off his ass and creating something a bit better than some bits of water pipe, epoxy glue and an ally can, Ok? I'm too old and bloody minded to take crap from you, so please take your snide comments somewhere else.

    Sheep?

60 made only 50 going out, more niche than sheep.

Bet you've got some DX lights though.

As they are cheap, disposable, and not trout lights – yes i have. Why is "niche" good? niche just screams "look at me" is it not just another way of putting "i am a tedious person but look i have interesting kit so you can talk to me about that"?

**** it i can't be arsed anymore. I am off to my bamboo and merino clad bed, welded by mr jones himself, i may read roger mussons wheel pro book whilst using a trout light. Maybe i will have a bath – the water piped in thru old on-one frames!!

oops forgot to get the dog in "ragley, ragley – where are you boy"?

mate is selling his so i am trying to help him get rid. You should know that – as if a 16" frame would fit me – i am not below average height John!!

I like how you say that you are going to buy one, then respray it to hide the fact it's not an On*One and that you are going to use it to pull a kiddie trailer.

Then you go and edit it saying it's now you mates bike.

I think admin should do an ip traceback on all the trolls in this thread, it's quite easily done and will show who's who.

if thats aimed at me – i am not trolling. Trolling is on the windup – i am not – just stating what i think. Also – i make no secret of who i am so wtf would an IP trace back be of any use :tard:

Nice to meet you this morning Trout, the lights look awesome and as good if not better than any pro built unit out there.

Not long until it gets dark and I'll do some comparison shots against my original AyUp helmet lights (which I'm keeping) and my Light & Motion Arc Li-ion's which I'm giving to a mate.

Had a day off today delivering the mum in law for a hol down in bristol
did a dodgy deal on a motorway bridge at 08.30

a light has made it to bristol just waiting for its owner to collect
and then had a nice drive through the peak district and dropped off 2 kits in Sheffield

A full day tomorrow and some boxes going out on monday but these will be ones that dont require Batteries and chargers as the chargers have been delayed to Smudge probably somewhere in the post system ??

next question which courier to bypass the postie action

    The light

    The Glow

Forget all this long exposure stuff. All of the following were taken on the same quick auto setting – 1/8sec, F-stop f/2.8, ISO 400

Ay Up helmet spot twin lights (bought 18 months ago)

light & Motion ARC Li-ion (2 years old)

    troutie,

got to say on a serious note the you new lights looks really neat..

for those who don't think it is bright enough —- you need one of these

18,500 yes eighteen thousand five hundred lumen monsters!

    http://www.rigidindustries.com/product_p/rgdl50.htm

carrying the battery for it might be an issue though :lol:

Well troutie, you asked for it – 15 XPG R5 in a case complete with batteries.

Brightest of its type in the world I reckon.

Yes I know it sticks out a bit, but trust me, I've just been round the local woods and you don't notice that. All I saw was this huge pool of light.

    Customary garden shots –

    Full whack 5000+ lumens

In comparison, a Lumicycle HID system. Same 1 second exposure at 400ASA

I'll probably make a new clamp that tucks it just under the bar without having to bend the cables under too much.

    4 levels, Commute (30hrs), Bimble (5), Extreme (3) and FFS (1).
