We have got fed up of swapping bikes on and off my Tacx Neo trainer as a family and have decided to take the plunge into a dedicated bike trainer for the family so we can swap on and off it. With that in mind I’ve come down to the Atom vs the Kickr Bike Shift and would be really grateful for any real life comments or experiences please – anyone here have/had/tried both please? I have read all I can find online and am still a little stuck. It’d largely get used for Trainer Road and Rouvy with some, but minimal Zwift – and with Erg mode on in the main.

Would appreciate any input and thanks in advance.

I have an Atom and love it. Moving the seat and bars is a weak area though, the forums are full of people talking about the cheese bolts, play and slippage.

If you are planning on different riders using it regularly the new Wattbike Proton is a much better bet, with very few downsides unless you are pushing out megawatts.

I’d agree with the other comment.  I’ve had a Kickr with a bike mounted on it but just bought the Wattbike Proton.  The proton is great for multiple users – my other half is just over 5’ & we’ve struggled to find something we can both use but the Proton is good for that given it’s a step through. Expensive but you can spread the payment over 6 or 12 months.
