I very much doubt this has just been left for several weeks and then a snap decision has been made to go public. I hope not.

I guess this might run for a bit………..

I really hope there will be a happy ending, but I’m not holding my breath.

I think that if the OP is hellbent on this approach, then rather than continue with innuendo and suggestion, they should simply put out the names of the alleged first and second person on this site, screengrab and repost the JPEG as a secondary post to prove they absolutely stand by their allegation.

The timing was an abismal, infact I suspect the timing mat was not working at all.
There was no auible bleep when passing over the mat and there was no running display of positions, just somebody taking numbers as people passed!
There must be mistakes through most of the catagories as the latest version had a glaring mistake in the catagory I was in.

Its a real shame as the event was otherwise great.

Sounds like the timing company should be named and shamed. It appears they are the root of all these problems.

    …moral issues aside.

People are shit. It’s Tweedloves/timekeepers/managements/your mates problem.

Bun fight and bakery come to mind.
If the person who went on to take the prize home had anything about her she would have returned the prize to the organisers on the day the moment it was apparent there may be a problem, to be re presented when a decision was made.

If she had left before the problem came to light, the organisers if they had anything about them should have let her keep the prize as it was their mistake not hers and presented the actual winner with another identical prize.

Wether the mistaken winner now returns the prize or not should have no bearing on the organisers now giving the actual winner her prize as advertised that she won .
If not I would suggest that they are indeed a shower with no integrity and their events should be avoided as such.

    So why spoil it?

Did your pal put all that effort in, over the winter, to win a pair of wheels… No

She slogged her guts out to put in the best performance she could on the day… which she did… by winning.

Bet she’s far more happy about that, than some shinny things…. and that’s why she wasn’t that bothered about the other person taking them.

I am not sure that these events are run at a profit, some maybe but many are just run for the love of the sport. It could be that some one (or a few people) have slogged their guts out for the past 12 months organising this event, for no personal gain, to provide lots of people with some fun and enjoyment. It would be incredibly harsh to expect them to stick their hands in their pocket to fund new prizes.

Mods, can you close this please, only posted it as I was pissed off with the whole situation, but in hindsight wasn’t the best of ideas.
