SO who;s getting the pickenflick now its back in stock, looks like a killer package with hydraulic brakes now, and seems to be able to take a larger outer chainring.

Anyone got one yet and if so pics and reviews on the goods please! I’ve ordered one and canny wait!!

I’ve got a week old one. Did you use the 20% off code?

    Interesting. What code is this?

At 9.7kg it seems pretty heavy compared to other similar specced cyclocross bikes that are about 8.5-9kg

Sure did use the code, hows it ride Tonolina?? Also what is the weight like, as in really weight, not website weights?? Cheers.

Hey also interested about sizing, I wasn’t too sure what to go for, but went large in the end. I’m 6ft, but I do prefer a smaller bike offroad. Saying that my roadbike is a 58cm, What did you get Tonolina and what size are you. I ordered a 90mm stem on mine, had initially gone for 44cm bars as I prefer them wider, but in end swapped them out for the planet x midge bars, as they may be narrower on flat, but the drops flair out nice and wide. I used them on my mates genesis and although at first look weird, feel very comfy, plus you gave more control offroad.

See the previous thread for the 20%off code.

I am 5’10” and ordered the large. Also put an adjustable stem on it for now as I like a more upright position. As for the handle bars, I wish I had got the widest available but, unfortunately On One sent the bike out four days before the assembly date they gave me which meant that I had the stock build delivered. However, The bike is rock solid, titanium, doesn’t feel heavy at all, looks beautiful and is titanium. The only thing I will do in the future is to put an MTB chainset on it to get lower gears as it will be living on Dartmoor.

sounds cool, I can’t wait. I live in peak district so may need easier gears but will commute a big distance on mixed surfaces, so will probably end up keeping the gear ratio.

I have just ordered a frameset, will swap all I can over from unused large Fargo. The extra 20% off code is still working so frameset came to £639. Nearest frameset such as Kinesis or Sabbath about double that.

    Code is ukstaffcla20

I need a much shorter top tube than I used to, so went for the medium, 5’10” height. Frame is short and a bit tall so was also worried about stand over, so will see how medium works out.

I have owned a number of TI bikes and they do have a special feel and pleasure of ownership.

Oddly ukstaffcla20 didn’t work on a complete bike that I added to my basket. Which is no bad thing as it means I would have bought a TT bike I don’t need if it did.

It should work as I bought a complete pickenflick cx1 and got a discount

Hmm, maybe it’s the daily deals it doesn’t work on then. Odd.

yes, I think it only works on full price items.

The Frameset is already 20% off and the code still works. Also works on the amazing pink tyres Fatty offer.

I meant it doesn’t work on the daily deals – I tried on Sunday with the 6800 chainset which was on offer

I’ve just used it on the pink tyre fatty – I will be well chuffed it goes through, although will wait and see sounds a bit “too good to be true”.

I got the 20% OFF MINE, AMAZING DEAL really, well done planet x.

Arrived very quickly. Ordered Tuesday, arrive mid day today, Thursday.

Placed Fargo wheels on frame to judge sizing and medium looks good for me at 5’10”, just enough top, tube clearance.

Tyres are 50mm, fit but too tight so will need some 40mm tyres. What’s best for gravel riding on the New Forest tracks.

Will,go with Hope headset I think. Does site spec exactly which headset I need?

it’ll be a drop in headset i imagine, trying to resist one of these as a winter roadie, was hoping they would do a more road orientated ti frame but its not materialized

Is that the frame AND forks for that, and is code legit? It works, but I am not sure that I will get away with using it!

loads of people have used the successfully. I was a bit dubious and thought it might have been released by a disgruntled now-former employee but given theyve shifted a load of bikes on it theyve had lots of opportunity to pull it.

Keep having to step away from an ever-growing basket (C456 Evo frame, Lyrik forks, fat bike all attractively pricd with that code!)

codes legit, I used it on a full cx1 pickenflick. I thinks its a company promotion to see who sells most

The codes were due to stop working on the 1st Dec, but I guess so many people are order that they have left them working. Fatties by the bucketload being ordered. Code worked for me, no issues and frameset here now.

Found the headset is FSA C-40 No42 ACB.

It is shown on the Pickwnflick frameset page as £29, but when you click on it the price ups to £49 so very frustrating. Had this before with On One site.

Not quite worked out Hope equivalent yet.

does anyone know whether it will take a road compact chainset now?

The frame description says it won’t take a road or cross chianset, but the full build SRAM rival picture /spec shows a cross chainset?

They did that to me when I bought my first one when they first appeared. Much moaning produced the reaction that the pic was mistake and it disappeared sharpish.
I reckon that a road compact would be a close fit but moving a BB spacer may be enough. Don’t like that idea as it buggers up the symmetry of the fit. The Crossjunkie site has something to say about that.
Mine runs with the standard 28/42 chainset on the road and apart from long downhills I rarely run out of gears and its helping push my cadence up.

Well I received mine lastnight, I was a little unsure of frame size, but went for the large. Im 6ft and it feels pretty much perfect, maybe a little shorter than my roadbike, but I chose a 90mm stem as I like a quicker turning front end off road. I also chose the midge bars as I wanted a wide bar. The frame looks amazing, infact the whole bike is really classy. I got the 20% code too, so saved over 300 quid!! Wow..
I was confused about the chainset situation, and held off buying the original one last year due to only running a 42t outer max. Now comes complete with a 46t outer, so not sure if they changed the chainstays on the new frame to accommodate clearance issues. Can’t wait to go on a cruise tonight, the only thing i’ll have to work out is how to botch mudguards to it for commuting..

Overall service from Planet X has been brilliant too, seen a few posts on here stating otherwise, but I can say they rang me several times regarding build time, sizing, and delivery schedule too. Can’t fault them, cheers guys!!! Oh I forgot to mention, I have a free cardboard box too now.. Bonus!!!

Right update on the pickenflick, I’ve done fair few miles on it now and here’s my thoughts in no particular order. The size is great fun, a little more upright due to the stem length, but I feel safer on this setup commuting. On the road the tyres just eat up the potholes, so I’m not as focused on the tarmac in the dark anymore. Its slower on road, no brainer. It’s really really quick on little single track footpaths and I’m surprised how much rough stuff it can handle. Rock gardens are where I’m not as confident on it! The sticker are coming off already.. The brakes are very good. The inner ring is too hard in the peak district, I need smaller. like a 34 or even 32. humm what else. Oh yes, I feel beaten up when I ride this bike, I guess not having suspension and riding the same terrain as my full sus. Offroad commuting to work is a blast.. I like this bike. Oh it does have a very slight dint in the down tube, near the head tube weld that was there from the start, you can feel it, but its subtle. I wonder if this was done in transit? Oh and the last thing, 2 punctures in 2 rides.. Thorns so not pinch.. DOnt try to put your road inner tubes in, they don’t fill the void.. (like i’d try that) Ahem.
