How often (if at all) are these routes closed due to deer stalking? I’m thinking of going to ride them in mid august / september. The link below lists lots of nearby hills as potentially having access issues https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/sites/soac/files//docs/hftsh_table_area_2_-_northern_highlands.pdf

Ive been walking and riding in the Scottish Highlands for 40 years. I’ve once been asked to make a small diversion to avoid a shoot. The estates know where all the main routes and throughways are and avoid them where possible.

Similar to scotroutes I have once been asked to take an alternative path to avoid shooters.  Other than that its not an issue generally.

I phoned the estate office with regard to stalking while planning a bothy trip to Maol Bhuidhe, I only got as far as saying where we were heading & was told, ‘ach, you’ll be fine’.

Probably better to make double sure by phoning though.
