Some broken branches? 🤷🏼 This is the Bybrook, at Ford, not far from Chippenham, where my dad was born and grew up, and the same river that flows through Castle Combe. It signifies something I never, ever thought I’d see; there are beaver in the river, and there are tooth marks on those branches!
This is the church above, after Cromwell’s army burned the roof and used it for cannon practice, before setting sail from Bristol to Ireland. It was tastefully restored by the Victorians. The grave with the headstone in the foreground is where members of my family are buried.
