    Beware the Streisand Effect.

Having said that, if another manager were directly making insinuations like that about a member of my team, without citing any actual examples of improper behaviour, I’d be wanting a quiet word, sans biscuits.

Reminds me of an instance in a previous workplace. Guy (married) and a girl (boyfriend) rumoured to be having an affair. They clearly had some degree of attachment (no idea how far it went, as it was none of my business), but, Christ, the sheer nastiness directed towards the girl from the other women in office – extending to her car and other property being vandalised – was staggering. Oddly, no such ire directed at him.

I had the same thing arrpee.  I was apparently having an affair with a pal at work and the rest of the staff would not talk to her.  I only found out years later,  Perils of being a man in a female dominated profession – just wish now that some of the rumours about me were actually true 🙂

I’m concerned that he’s found out that two of the three lead characters are having an affair, and it’s not him….

Agree with the opinion of ‘go to your line manager and then HR’

lol – yes, keep it discreet by mentioning it to HR…

Yes true if he wants to see action though we the stw collective are accessing the situation that any action has, is or even will happen.
