    Eh?

Snackage to specifically accompany a pint down your local? Whetting your pre-kebab appetite

Normal Walkers-esque crisps just don’t cut it really IMHO. You need something a bit more substantial. Roast Beef Monster Munch for example. I’ve recently discovered these, and the fiery Madras is coming up trumps as the bestest pub snack ever

    Your nominations please…..

I’m half torn between dry roasted peanuts or a good Bombay mix. Some of the more budget Bombay mixes tend to miss out on flavours and spices though.

Crisps are just a bit too ordinary and don’t tempt me that much.

We normally go pick n mix at the end of the night – just ask the bar man to grab a load of random snacks and flavours. There is a great pub in Knaresborough that does stuff like Pickled Onion Monster Munch and Discos too.

It’s got to be either –

    Pork Scratchings,
    Seabrooks Prawn Cocktail crisps,
    or
    Flaming Hot Monster Munch

buy a bag of salt and vinegar crisps and a pickled egg. eat half the crisps (appetiser). smash up remaining crisps in bag. insert egg. shake. eat. ghetto scotch egg.

as if a scotch egg wasn’t ghetto enough.

fiery Madras is coming up trumps as the bestest pub snack ever

It will indeed be coming out with trumps.

Salted cashews are a favourite, also quavers, not just any quavers mind, it has to be the original cheese, melt in your mouth nothing ness.

Can’t remember the make, but when I go for a drink in Bath in a friends local, I always have a packet or two of Jalapeño Crisps. A pint of Doom Bar or Butcombe is essential with these crisps. I just wish more places sold them. Nom!

In order of bloomin loveliness, when served with a pint of something cold…

    1. Biltong
    2. Pork scratchings
    3. Mini pretzels
    4. Bacon fries
    5. Japanese fire crackers

    Some other food

    1000000000000000. Pickled eggs.

    Good call that man.

In their absence, I’d suggest Steak McCoys and a pint of bitter. After the second or third pint, you may crave something meatier, which is when you bring out the pork scratchings.

I hadn’t seen scampi fries nor those bacon fries thingumybobs for years until I found a new micro brewery pub not far from me.. Damn if those scampi fries remind me of something…. Just like they used to back in the day.
