There was some attempt in the first episode to establish why he would go from chemistry teacher to drug dealer, but the writers didn’t even bother to try to continue with that idea.
I can understand why people found it vaguely entertaining, but there is no way it could be put on the same shelf as The Sopranos, Mad Men, or even Archer – as different as they all are from one another.
