My boys’ school is asking for help with book banding -identifying the reading age of books in the library.

This requires 150 words from each of the books, which get entered into an online programme. At the moment Mrs SC is typing the text in (and is currently allocated 400 books!).

There has to be an easier way but I can’t work out what it is.
Most of the books are listed on Google Books but it is an image and I can’t copy the text.

    Any other ideas?
    Cheers!

    most scanners do text recognition.

Also, I can’t (well I can) believe that every school in the land is having to type in 150 words of the same few thousand books that they all have to achieve this. Is there no database of previously checked titles?

    150 words?

Google goggles app on android (might be on iphone too), then cut/paste and fix the errors.
Handy to translate a paragraph of foreign too, amongst several other things.
