    I thought swimming was going to be a big help in my winter training load as I assumed it would make a nice change.
    I found it so boring! I managed an hour but even an hour of steady state on the turbo goes quicker.
    What I did notice though, was loads of people don’t just swim anymore. There were people with floats and flippers just working their legs, people with all kinds of masks and goggles doing various drills and one guy with a snorkel who got in the pool, did 45 minutes of lane swimming without putting his head up once, then got out again.
    The only good thing about it was the Galaxy caramel from the machine afterwards 😀

    Helps to find a quiet pool that has lanes on at times that work for you. I find the whole routine quite relaxing, focussing on counting lengths, when, if I lose count, I go down the way, so my 120 is often 124 or so 🙂 . also good to focus on technique, strokes per length etc

    4 x 40 min swims a week as a rule

    That sounds like a lot for the average battler! 😀
