Drop barred MTB for your delectation

Its like a not-as-pretty Cotic Cascade
Aggro-gravel Grappler?
It's going to take a while to get used to seeing drop bars with sloping top tubes
About 15 years?

There's been plenty of monstercross/frankenbike posts on here for 10+years to prepare you for this

Loving the bants
I'm guessing you don't get one for the looks, but each to their own.

Ftfy
Looks like an On One Bootzipper but without a price that changes ever 10 seconds.
I cant see how it fits a 27.5 2.8 but only 29er 2.1 seems odd
And the reach is mad for a drop bar longer than the outgoing flat bat ecr
I like it - but not at that p!ss taking UK specific exchange rate.
@firestarter that's because they quote tyre clearance with the dropouts all the way forward. In the rearmost position tyre clearance is like 29x2.5 or something
Ah that makes more sense, still a long reach for a drop bar
the limiting factor is the fork, 29 x 2 with mudguards, 29 x 2.2 without
@Firestarter That’s what makes it appealing to me.
My Pubesmobile is 409mm reach in medium. A little longer (with a steeper STA) would be good IMO.
Nice name lol I used to run an early singular swift with drops but they were short and shallow , ooo.. er.. mrs..
Err Gryphon, Fargo etc etc.
still a long reach for a drop bar
Is what I thought. I’ve had ideas in the past about speccing my Longitude with flared drops. The general consensus here seems to be nope - too long by name, too long by nature
So what am I missing? The 420mm reach is the same on either bike (M).
Effective TT is +6mm on the Longitude, and adds around 25mm on the wheelbase (13.5mm on the chainstay). I’m guessing the Ghost Grappler (mad name gets points) takes it with the longer head-tube putting the front higher??
Personally I think the Longitude could work well with shallow drops, a short stem and the saddle pushed forward to compensate for the slack STA.
Why is it that when someone builds a monster cross the comments are always it's too long, too short, it won't ride very well, but when companies like surly make a "aggro gravel bike" it's acceptable? Even with that massive steerer!
Makes me think that if it fits you, it fits you, regardless of the numbers.
I just wish I had access to all those gravel roads they have in America! They look amazing.
Where I live, flat bars make more sense to me no matter how much I prefer the look of drop bars.
Because we don’t all have the same preferences re weight distribution
/geometry I guess. You can achieve the same fit on frames with pretty different numbers, but weight distribution will vary. What works for me might not work for others.

Living near the Welsh borders and riding a lot of rough roads, fireroads, bridleways and towpaths a monstercross still really makes most sense for the riding I do. I somewhat regret switching from the Genesis Vagabond tbh. If a large 2021 frame came within my reach I’d seriously consider switching back.
Trossachs or Perthshire if you want to spoil yourself.
Strangly the longitude numbers look very similar to the on one rocky road but they don't suggest drops would work, but the bootzipper has a 440mm reach in a medium and they say that works with drops so who knows
