I’ll be bringing Glenlivet 12yr old and maybe a Balvenie rum cask.
Thats about all I’ve decided so far oh and maybe gears!

I’ve already been burnt down today! You can’t burn me twice in the same day, new forum rules duh!

oh well if we burn tollah it will save me dragging any fuel up in Ambrose’s trailer 😉

It’s looking more and more unlikely that I’ll be there, despite my nice new tarp and paracord. Bah humbug!!

    🙁 BOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo 🙁

bring the wee fella along 😉

I can lend him a bike if needed

I’ve a limited edition, 40 year old bottle of whiskey … which I won’t be bringing. Instead I’ll be carrying some of Lidls finest tea bags.

Still having a mess around with a route, don’t expect anything too taxing. SS should be fine but I think I’ll be using a selection of gears … but I could easily change my mind yet 😉

    Hammock or not?

I’m hovering on the hammock/bivvy bag and tarp decision too.

Bivvy spot remains the same … just how we get there might alter.

    Hammocks will be fine 😀

Can someone give us locals a link to the start point please??

Could well venture down for this..

Centre of Machynlleth – Stuart suggested the former Celtica car park. So into Mach on the A489 to the T junction by the clock/monument thingy. Turn left and it is on your left after about 100m. IIRC correctly there is a leisure centre or swimming pool there as well.

Why do I not trust the smiley emoticon stu? Have the trees been chopped down now? Or something equally sinister.

Well I had an overnight in Nant Rhys Bothy at the weekend to check over a few bits of kit. Think I’ve decided on which tyres I’ll be using 😀

IanB- I’m staying at Nant Rhys this weekend- waht’s the fuel situation like up there at the moment? Is the bowsaw in good shape? I am told there is no axe at the moment, so I’ll take one with me.

    IanB.

You could use the Larry?Endo? to carry enough red wine for everyone to get pishted. 😆

Ambrose, bow saw was there but didn’t need to use it. We left a small bag of coal there Sunday am, so might still be there this weekend. The maintenace crew were there too, so might have left something.

Sstu, the wheel weighs enough as it is, I’m not filling it with wine as well! 😉

I know mine has about half a bottle of Stans in. Good at stopping punctures, rubbish for drinking though. 😉

    Yep.

Thought about trying to tubeless it but not sure it’d stay on the rim at 6 psi.

Plenty of snow here at present and -3 … it’s possible that the weather is confined to just our valley though 🙄

Just taken delivery of a thermolite bag liner which is meant to increase my bags range by 6 degrees … we’ll see.*I might be joining in with Ian and using 2 bags.

*Oddly, at first I wrote, I might be joining Ian in his 2 bags!!! good job I spotted that, eh 😉

How many bail-outs do you reckon there will be before next weekend? 😉
How much is plenty of snow?
    How’s the arm?

    stills8tannorm

    I won’t comment on bail-outs … ‘spose I can’t really as I’ve no real idea who’s coming along 😀

Enough snow this afternoon for Dennis to go sledging!

Arm’s still not great ta, would seem to be rsi (cue comments). I was instructing yesterday and it held up but hurt rather alot last night … to the point of shouting **** me down the phone to my mum at one point as I tried to lift a brew up with it 😉

OK- looks like I’m back in. This weekend’s bothy trip has been postponed due to much wussiness. Family duties now re-aranged. Provided that I can actually get up to Mach through the predicted glacial weather I will be there with some of Lidl’s finest.

    Ambrose awesome 😀

Do you want a lift to save taking 2 cars up??

Can bring our Scenic stripped out so can get all the gear in 😉
