Trying to replace the bearings on my hope pro 2 rear hub and I’m struggling to get the outer disc side bearing out. You are supposed to knock the axle through the drive side and out of the disc side but it won’t budge.

Any tips for getting it out?

As above, a bigger hammer is what’s needed.

Give the axle a good wallop from the drive side.

Protect the axle end with a block of wood to stop it getting damaged.

Cheers, I’ll swop the rubber mallet for a lump hammer and see what happens.

Rubber hammer’s your problem, drop a large bolt into the axle to prevent damage, bin the comedy hammer, and hit it with a proper hammer.

Pop a sacrificial rotor bolt in the end of the axle, to smack, instead of the axle itself, wooden blocks fine but metal on metal will transmit the force better 😉

Socket on the end of the axle, hit it with a lump hammer, one hit and it was out.
Lesson learnt… use a big boy hammer.
